As for Bootsma shown enough in my view to hopefully become a good player - if we are going to drop him run the risk of stunting his development and in my view that was what was happening with Lucas fortunately Lucas seems to be coming out of that and has I reckon a lot of upside - showed real promise when first introduced but then allowed to stagnate

..i hear what yer saying, but what are expectations..?.. ..finals or more development focused..??.. ..i agree that the players you listed need more games, and consistent seniors games as well.. ..but you've already got 4 that you're in some ways carrying, or perhaps 3 since Lucas has been one of our most productive ball carriers so far.. ..but it's not simply just them, it looks like Laids needs to be 'eased' into it as well.. ..so that becomes 5 players that we're kinda carrying.. ..you can almost chuck Touhy into that group as well, foreign kid new to the game with under 2 seasons experience..

Certainly do Agro. I went to PP that day and couldn't get in. Watched it at the pub. Love that hit on McKenna by the Duke against West Coast too. That was a great win that day.

Your right, how the times have changed. Hope MM can bring back some of that belief. We can show intensity but unfortunately we are unable to sustain it for long periods. Thats the difference between real contenders and near enough is good enough attitude.

I shouldn't be surprised, but nevertheless am at the angst and hand wringing. I thought we improved greatly this weekend, and if we continue to improve the wins will come soon enough. I think this is more of a rebuild than many (perhaps even internally) thought was going to be required. The fact there is concern over something as rudimentary as getting the rotations right says a lot.

Interesting comments from Mick pre-game, mentioning that Mitchell wasn't far away... If Levi does survive this week and play, he would want to extract the digit....

Not sure how much of a chance we are this week, I guess the fatiguee factor from having the big someback following a brutal game against Hawthorn might catch up with the cats? They are a lot more comfortable playing with each other than we are though...

I reckon MM mentioning Mitchell is more a head-game with Mitchell than anything else....trying to build him up and give him confidence.

If Hampson comes in, which he should. Casboult will probably be the one to go.

is there any chance of having an open fwd line space where tex, yaz, casbolt, jeffrey, can lead into. Any chance of kicking the ball to our fwd advantage and not bombing it to a contest.

Nah, flood the forward line, then bomb it to Yaz while triple teamed

Maybe Micks just going to suss everyone out over the next few months ?

That would be a good thing.

Kahuna agree with what you say and maybe at 90 years of age I was naive to think that Mick may give us an almost instant return on our earlier investment - but after the first 2 games Im more convinced than ever that our group is bar Melbourne the most mentally fragile one in the AFL and Micks greatest challenge is to rectify that -I reckon it is easier to program rather than de-program so if he is going to stamp this team with his ethos/a killer instinct a hard mental edge its better within reason to do it with young players/newbies who may embrace it than some of the others that have let us down in the past
Wish we didnt have to but the reality is that we have to -and whilst a broken record about it the FACT that we couldnt improve our list over the last summer was criminal when arguably all of geelong collingwood hawthorn and the swans

I think we will win this game. i get the feeling the team is about to click, I sense improvement despite the losses and i reckon team balance is starting to unfold.

We really need to solidify the backline. Can't have guys getting off the chain for 5 goals on a regular basis.

I think Laidler has to stay in - there's no reason he shouldn't regain his form. I think Walker has to go back. I think Tuohy should stay in. Those three plus Hendo and Jamo give us a good chance. Just not sure what we should do about the 6th spot. Tempted to suggest Scotland but he may be too slow for their smalls. Tempted to suggest Armfield but for whatever reason he seems to ball watch in the backline. Not tempted to suggest AJ but fear the MC may go that way.

Btw Judd didnt train today. Waite and Hammo did.
