Anyone else wondering whether Simmo and Carrots sooked up about the captaincy? Frankly I havent been impressed by any of our new leaders as yet, but they both have been below 'par' in the first two rounds.

I am hopeful we will win this week, we have been able to take it to the cats in recent years. They had a tough match like us, and hence the bodies should be feeling as sore as eachother.

We need a win badly, West Coast the week after is tough, although they aint going too well either.. We don't want to be 4/0, our players are fragile mentally and they can easily go back into their shell.

No official word on Hampson or Betts yet...I'd say another week for both, maybe 2 for Betts (Because I am such an expert on broken jaws and appendectomies)

This is a Cats home game, any idea if it is fully ticketed?

Assuming Hampson and Betts are still unavailable I would drop Bootsma and Davies for Scotland and White. Normally not a fan of dropping players after one game but I didn't see enough from Davies yesterday to make me think he stays in.

Agree re Simpson...but what was Carrots role today?

He's still sooking because he wasn't chosen as captain.
He's re-trying his previous game style of shuffle and turn.

I don't know if they're sooking, but it seems like both are a little flat/depressed.
It also looks like Murph is a tad overwhelmed with the role, and mind not fully in the game.
however..that's just an outside view, and really, it could be anything.

Here's hoping all 3 put in a blinder on Sat nite.
Would like to see Buckley play, and can't wait to see L. Mitchell too.

Couldn't agree more. Just not a natural at it and worrying signs that it may impact his form

He has always looks uncomfortable with the camera's in front of him, the footy show being an example. He also looked very tense at the press conference.

And for the other two leaders  whats happened to their form???????

Just catching up on Northern I see that Knockers had a great VFL game maybe he comes in for Rowe? Scotland is also available after his club imposed selection. The kind of guy to bring in for Laidler? Buckley good. White good. Curnow 30+ possessions.

Perhaps there's pressure to hold your spot.

As what though? Presumably as the #1 ruckmen ... and we've already got one of those, (who is playing v. well at the moment).
Are you suggesting Warnock would be better than Rowe in a key forward role? With the exception of a quarter against
Sydney a few years ago I haven't seen any evidence that he can play this role at all.

How about Warnock in, Levi out. Rowe at CHB or CHF as required, Kreuzer resting up forward when Warnock rucks?

..nope, it's either Knockers, or Krooz as main ruck.. ..both play better when carrying the majority of the ruck load, as is common for most rucks.. ..don't be seduced by the cox/nicnat combo, it's the exception, mostly because nicnat is more a burst player, and cox is the accumulator.. ..i think either krooz or knockers can play main ruck with small time ruck relief from hammer, who can be a handful up fwd [though prefer him not to be main kpf]..

..knockers needs to have his breakout year, ansd then have it again year in year out, otherwise the trade is eding towards a bust.. ..we gave up picks, and dollars and years on him, and he's not been the most durable.. ..the longer it continues, the better he has to be..

..the worrying part for me, is that near every week we have a different fwd set-up, and almost as often the same with the back 6.. ..we're going nowhere until we settle the team.. ..otherwise we're just fooling ourselves..

That's the official word. People asked, I sourced it.

Carrots had 24 touches last week.

He only had 17 y'day, but kept Pendles to 23. FWIW, HUN and Age named him in their best (don't agree though).

Carrots is earning his spot, just not as prominent as we know he can be. Has a good record on Bartel, hoping he brings his A game next week.

Simmo - maybe time he went to the backline for the smaller forwards, releasing Tuohy for further up the field. Far better option than AJ back there.

Simpson has definitely lost a yard or two of pace, probably his biggest asset. Plenty of back pedaling and turning circles now, a la Scotland, but without the benefit of Scotland's better disposal.

Warnock in for a key forward will stuff our forward structure. Leave us with one inexperienced key forward and a ruckman to fill the two key posts.
