I was very keen for them to drop Duigan......but to bring this guy in for him was mind numbingly dumb for mine.

Was he that bad today? Or was it a bad match up?

He IS that bad.

Anyway it's the fault of Sticks Kernahan.
Quicker people realize we are ordinary on field because it mirrors or off field group the better.
Still I'm expecting muck to improve the terrible culture we have created.

Well, I agree totally with your first couple of lines Sinners.
Unfortunately I dont share your faith with the last line.
Its groundhog day my friend and 2003 has returned IMHO.
Jittery boards with a history of knee jerk decisions have a funny way of repeating the same mistakes. Over and over again.

Judd should be very thankful he won a flag at West Coast because he's joined an ad hoc organisation with a weak gutted board led by too many people trying to save their own credibility and reputations.
Until that changes, we arent going anywhere or improving anything.

I thought Gibbs was carrying a bit of knee injury. May have aggravated it during the game. He seemed to start off ok from what I saw.

It's unfortunate for Davies, but he just isn't AFL standard.

Gibbs spent his day trying to quell opposition players who got off the hook.
He was todays designated "fixit man"

Well BV im glad we agree on the board and president being crap.

Can someone remind me why we need 13 of them.. and why 2 are Pratts??.. and why one of the dumbest guys in footy is our president and why the board allow this dumb bloke to be our leader for years???
Was it in Pratts will????

Chris Yarran had to kick that goal at the end of the 3rd. Easy miss.Momentum at 3 quarter time lost.We would have been 16 points up.
Umpire had to pay Murph a free in front for high contact in the last. Appalling miss, they goal at the other end.Momentum lost. Game changer.
Despite the doom and gloom on here, just very small moments in the match and the result would and should have been different.
Other observations:
Murphy's hands not sure enough today. Fumbled a few at crucial sages. He is still not at his best. Diddo carrots.
Bell , Davies and Laidler off the pace for most of the match. Levi will be lucky to get a game next week if Hampson is fit.
Very happy for big Sam. Showed plenty.
Lucas improving but needs a few sessions at the Storm training this week.Use your shoulders Kane.
Jamo excellent.
Kruze very good.
Henderson is our most composed player after 2 rounds. Foward or back I like him with the footy in his hands. Jeffy
streets ahead of where he was last year.
All in all plenty of good signs. With a bit of luck we should have won.A work in progress.

Yeah. He only took us from a wooden spoon in his first year to 12th in his fifth year.

Mick took the Pies from 13th in his first year to 13th in his fifth year.

Davies was nothing short of ordinary today, and probably shouldn't get another go at it all year with Scotland back next week. Having said that, Davies in the side allowed us to start Walker forward and keep Yarran up front for most of the game. Who else comes in to allow us that luxury? White and Duigan both too slow. Laidler was underdone as it is. O'Keeffe injured, etc. etc. I doubt we played him on merit.

In an ideal world, Simpson is no longer in our best 22. He's gone from being the best run and carry player in the competition to offering very little in that regard, and not quick enough or a good enough kick to get by on other tools. Again, very little else challenging his spot. Curnow, or when eligible to play, Dale. Whilst I think the latter is definitely long term replacement, not just yet.

Our centre bounce structures were ordinary again. You won't see a more dominant non-Sandilands ruck display all for naught as it was today.

Not sure where you go with Bootsma from here.

I was one who didn't think we could win. Was hoping like he'll we would though.

Haven't watched it yet. Experienced the game via twitter updates from the club and TC. Very ordinary way to digest a game, not recommended. Have also read through this thread.

Disappointing we couldn't get over the line. Appears we left too much to too few and didn't perform when it counted.

The reality is it is a long way back from zero 2. While I expect to improve as the season wears on, the likelihood is we will be way too far back to make an impact this year.

Honestly don't see how we will win any of he next 3 but hope I'm wrong. We have to pinch a win somewhere otherwise the ever elusive confidence will be shot I reckon.

I thought Malthouse coached well today and got his match-up's right.
Collingwood just wanted the win in the end and except for a limited few, our boys waited for some-one else to do it.
Seen it before with these guys unfortunately.

Malthouses matchups were perplexing to say the least.
I still BELIEVE most likely ruck man to dominate is Warnock

Simmo wasn't and hasn't been great but wouldn't throw him away yet. Dylan Buckley looks his long term replacement, or Lucas?

In the ideal world of pre-season Simpson and Carazzo were up for the captaincy role of this club which shows how bereft of leadership are.

Very close to giving up on tc. Some people need to get a grip. Gutted to lose but thought we had a dip and at least our game plan stood up in a hard contest (ignoring the last 3 mins, where a few bad errors cost us). We look a much more complete side under mick and the improvement will come. I just hope we beat the cats next week so the vultures don't start circling
