Not sure how we can run out of legs when they used the sub so early.

So many players thinking they were in more space than they were.

Bell
Robinson

They get caught and put their kick under pressure.

Lucas piss weak tackling

Gibbs going missing in the second half...an opportunity to stamp himself on the game.

Davies overcommitting and allowing his man to play on and hand off for a goal...classic Davies stuff which should have been coach out of him.

Kickouts were poor. Both theirs and ours.

Too often they ran the ball uncontested to the wing putting pressure on our defense. Conversely, we were forced to kick long to a contest that was either sent firing back into the defensive 50 or bundled over the line for a throw in.

Actually it wasn't that close.

Surely Davies, Casbault and Bootsma will get a rest next week. Scotland will be a welcome return. 0-5 looking a strong chance.

That last 1/4 was a disgrace.

We have no system to set up a loose man and move the ball forward via short kicking

It is all bomb it long, hope to crumb and run it in.

It is highlighted in the inside 50 stats...64 inside 50s to Collingwood...just shows we can't maintain possession.

Can't maintain possession because we have too many poor kicks. Because we have no system to get players free and work the ball forward.

Well its still possible to run more than the opposition despite them being a rotation down. That and if your fitness isn't at the same level to start with.

We either ran out of legs or we're just bone lazy and stupid.

I think its a combination.

Umpiring cost us that game, shocking. Frees in front of goal not paid! FMD. Game changers.
Hoping to see Yazz play up fwd with the same output & with Eddie, Jeff, Walks & Waite...we could be dangerous.
Need Scotland down back.
Disappointing loss to get run over in the last. Bad positioning in the packs let them run the ball out as they like.

Scotland, Waite, Betts and Hampson will straighten us up.

Lots more upside.

Good effort by the boys considering most people tipping the pies would smash us.

Get Houlihan back.

Davies and Armfield have to go. Davies not up to it, Armfield great endeavour but disposal not up to AFL standard, you can't afford a player like that. Robbo's kicking is a worry too.

Ah well, glass half full, we are playing reasonable footy, sorting out the wheat from the chaff, now for a few wins.

Armfield was far from our worst. His hardness, speed and tackling ability alone make him more valuable than a lot of players who have lined up in round 1 and 2.

Was a great last qtr.. and the pies just simply out ran and out played us. The umpiring in the first 3 qtrs was some of the worst ive ever seen. Some of the missed calls were absolute @#$%&! robbery.
Last qtr was good (with the exception of the missed Armfield 'in the back' call... which might have very well cost us the game).

We need players like Bell, Robbo and Armfield to string more games together alongside one another to compliment Murphy, Lucas and Simpson who are VERY MUCH vanilla outside players.

I feel like if it didnt rain we would have one. Judd couldnt pick up the ball to save his life.

Looked a lot better this week, but still SO much to work on.

I find it extraordinary how for 8 years we have had no idea how to set up to defend the pack crumb in our defensive 50. Week in, week out I have watched group after group of players wearing our shirt watch the ball, both feet planted on the ground, while their opponents spread and watch for the chance to swoop on it.

Go down the other end, and the only way we get one of those is if it's perfectly picked off on the volley or off the half volley on our toes. I am disgusted at how often we taken an evenly numbered contest and leave a player loose for the opposition to manipulate our defensive structure through.

It's not changed with 3 different coaches; not once. I stopped caring about football because of this shit, and it's drawn me back in for a sucker punch it would seem. Go @#$%&! yourself Carlton; change your motto to 'mens insana in corpore sano', or something equally befitting.

WE can't keep relying on Scotland. He's only got one or two seasons left in him.
We need some half back flankers on the list.

Uncontested possessions

Carlton 144

Collingwood 195

We barely defended the kickout

We allowed them to chip/mark chip mark and bring the ball forward.

No system for us bringing it inside 50

No system defending when the opposition are bringing it out of defence.

Same old problem - lack of class (Carrazzo, Armfield, Davies, Bootsma, Casboult, Touhy, Mclean, Bell, Robbo) and heart (#4, #13).
