Collingwood player lives in my street.* Tonight there was a Hyundai (not mine) parked on his nature strip. That's good enough an omen for mine. Blues by 23.

Might go a Kevin Bartlett and tip Carlton by 96 points.

Not a fan of Davies at all, but now that he's in I hope he goes in hard and tough against the Pies. I want to see a high tackle count for Davies. Make 'em hurt.

Limited player but a strong body.

I like the kid but he hasn't always looked like he belongs.

An improvement on Duigan (although that's not saying much)...better we get games into he, Boots etc rather than wasting time with guys not up to AFL standard.

This guy has played more finals games than most players on our list, 3 out of the 15 games he has played for this club are finals so based on the theory that a final is worth 10 home and away games he has played over 40 games - I reckon we've seen enough.

I'm tipping MM won't leave Davies one out in the goal square with their premium midfielders.

27° forecast for Sunday

If we're right in it at 3 qtr time there really shouldn't be any excuses with an extra 3 days rest.

That's because he doesn't belong!

If the ball comes in at 200 miles an hour for a quarter and a half like it did last week it wouldn't matter if B Doull was taking Duigans place.

Actually he'd probably still win, but you need pressure coming from up the ground.

For us to have any chance our midfield must lift considerably and we simply must address our clearances/stoppages/centre bounce issues. We have been woeful.

If we allow their midfielders to stroll away from these contests as if we aren't even there (like we have the past 2 games), we will get smashed.

I fear we will struggle to kick any sort of score without our midfield dominating.

We are clear underdogs as we should be IMHO. Some appear to be optimistic about our chances, wish I shared that view.

All that being said, I flower hope we bring our A game and absolutely smash them.

Go Blues.

Surely our midfield won't play that badly 2 weeks in a row. I think we're going to have a headache keeping the ball in our forward line...would like to see Armfield or Robbo or even Carrazzo play a defensive role on Shaw & hopefully score a goal or 2 in the process.

Bootsma the sub

I thought this too. But then I looked at the interchange and thought Davies is the one of those whom I would use as the sub.
I know is isn't compulsory but usually the sub comes from the listed interchange.

I like Davies. OK, he isn't Chris Judd but he is what Lou used to call a good average player. he hasn't really had a good run at it and needs one if we are ever going to know if he's good enough.

He's a good build for a footballer, he's pretty quick and willing at the contest and just neeeds to be able to make a bit of time and space for himself and his decisions and disposal will improve. He can only do that in the tempo of the firsts.
