..Knockers may turn out to be what could give our midfield a better chance for clearances.. ..however, if our midfield plays lazy and loose again like they have for patches so far this year, than Knockers becomes a liability cos he's only good for tapouts; if our midfield isn't switched on Knockers becomes a wasted opportunity.. ..you can count on Krooz to have an influence on the game 'on the ball', he's good in general play so even if the stoppages aren't going well he still will rack up possession [for a ruck], get his own clearances and tackle, he's good for knocking a few opposition players on their arse every game.. ..he sets a standard with his work ethic..

..Knockers i think would probably do better in another team, but our team has certain mental/cultural issues, and Knocker's own playing attitude doesn't improve that aspect of our team..

AFL insider highlighted how soft murphy and judd in particular were around the clearances last Thursday and its not isolated to those two but cotchin and tuck manhandled them at the bounces - shoving them right under the contest / bumping them off the ball and then just running away with it.

we are so soft

no ruckman will make a difference to that.

cotchin and tuck FFS ! - manhandling our players !

need to be much smarter and stronger than the pissweak efforts of last week.

seems we're taking this pretty calmly...........

I think we're struggling bigtime as is and we've just lost 25% of our goalkicking power for the next month (not to mention Hammer for the next 2, probably another 10% of scoring power)

and most distressing are the reports from the Ants regarding 208, laids, bell.... definitely doesnt sound like form to promote someone on

In Jeff garlett and CY wed trust

and im sorry but casboult/rowe key fwd line is the weakest in the league......... maybe melbs wins until Dawes gets back...........

prepare for a catastrophic time

Much has been made re: Judd seemingly refusing to tackle or bump when the chance presented itself. Stood out like dogs balls.

Judd hasn't been great at running the opposite way but I think Judd has had enough of his team mates.
5 years. How much can someone take?
Look how other sides react when one of theirs is hit, pushed and scragged even within the rules.
I don't blame him at all.
We need some self respect, some pride and fight for !@#$ sake.
We need to push.
We need to hit and most of all
We need to stand up for our team mates.
Isn't that why we hired Malthouse?

No, we hired Malthouse because Nanette said we could

Maybe go back to what we were doing for the past few years where we keep it in tight. Ruckman hits to his feet. Secondary ball up is fine. Almost plan A. From there compress and get numbers around the ball and learn to enjoy a rugby style scrum only letting it out on our terms.

Wiley has it all left too open and pretty much making it a 50/50 (if we are lucky and our blokes harden up) that if lost leaves an easy forward entry for them. Tighten it up.

Why?
we beat them comfortably last time without Waite, Henderson, Murphy, Laidler and that was with a shit coach apparently.
Whats the issue?

Even though I like Henderson at CHB he needs to go to CHF this week.

OUT - Hampson (inj), Betts (inj), Joseph
IN - White, Bell, Buckley

White needs to play back and Henderson forward.

A bit more team orientated midfield work would be better as well as last week it was all about all 3 of them wanting a touch rather than properly setting up so the worst thing doesn't happen. Chuck in Armfield/Bell or start Casboult in the ruck for the first 5mins just to stamp the type of aggression that is needed.

Ideally we would drop Duigan and replace him with Laidler but I don't think that will happen.

It's not impossible to win, but I wouldn't be counting on it.

No Betts is a huge blow to our already poor forward line.

yeah but they played off in the last 4 to make another GF and we didnt even make the eight.
Also BV we also lost to Port and GC.....

And StKilda beat the Swanns.

Makes no difference.... what makes a difference is what your end result is.....

Ours was a painful year... whilst Collingwood were there abouts.
Sydney won the flag
StKilda were around our mark

Maclure on 360 saying that young supporters these days don't understand how fierce and passionate the tribal rivalry between Carlton and Collingwood used to be. It's true.

The price of expansion and rationalisation.

I wouldn't be betting on him coming back in anytime soon. I hear Malthouse is not a fan, hense why his been despatched to the VFL since praccy games.

Synbad, I must ask you the question.

Do you actually support Carlton?

I have read your posts for a few years now and can't remember a single, positive quote.
