Read what Sticks said a few weeks ago. It's between Murph and Carrots.

Duigs would have to be certain of being best 22 before he'd be anywhere near the gig.

Carrazzo for sure.

You don't necessary have to have one of your best players as your captain. While I'm sure Murph will probably get it, I reckon Carrots deserves it more.

Has had to go the hard way to become an AFL player and I reckon his peers respect the shit out of him.

Carrots will be our next captain.

We need a leader with some factor and Murph doesn't have that just yet. Also, we need a polished performer in the media and Carrots ticks that box also as he's well spoken. That may sound a silly criteria for a skipper but that's where footy is at these days.

carrots for two years as skipper and then Murph to replace him.

While the decision may have already been made and I wouldn't begrudge any of the three candidates, I'd still go with Kade Simpson for the following reasons:

- He's been a 100% die hard, give everything player from beginning til now. He leaves nothing on the field.
- He certainly leads by example, and from the little I've seen of him in interviews, comes across as polished, intelligent.
- He has a beard.

In fact until I see Carrazzo and Murphy sporting some unkempt growths along the jaw line, I'm not sure I can consider them as serious for the role.

If it's coming from the oxymoron, no.

I would have thought that everyone had clued on to the idea that carrots will more than likely captain carlton by now.

Given that we are now in the Grand Final of the Mickey Mouse Cup, is there a chance that our own Mickey, Malthouse's hand might be forced to announce a captain this week sometime?

Personally would love to se Simmo get the nod, but believe that it will most likely be Carrazzo, unless MM wants to rub the Brions nose in it a bit, by delaying the announcement and making Murphy acting captain for this week.

Clearly The Age hasn't clued in as they are saying that Murphy will be named Captain tomorrow.

However the rag (Herald/Sun) are clearly on the Carrazzo bandwagon.

Guess we'll know tomorrow.
