Surely we could sign up for at least ONE (home) game against North Melb down here?? [/i]

With respect to your opinion and being an interstate supporter, unless it's an Away game to North Melbourne, I don't want any Carlton home games sold to anywhere outside Melbourne.

I like the discount option however I understand the club's position. They forfeit much more $$ in giving you a $3.50 cost price hat than if they gave you a % discount off their entire merchandise, which would impact their profits way more.

Really? I realize the crowd sizes aren't going to be much different, but if you get an extra 10,000 memberships a year (I believe this is a realistic number too), for playing 1 home game down here, you say you'd pass it up?

Depends on how you are looking at it. Selling an extra 20, 000 merch items at at a reduced profit margin per item, may actually generate a LOt more profit in terms of Merch they may not of sold regardless of the margin. eg. selling 20000 items at a $10 profit is better than 5000 at $30 profit... , and when you add $3.50 on top of each modified membership sold (saved from not including crappy stickers etc.) then the profit increases. Look at all of the big businesses in the world, they sell stuff at greatly reduced cost and make their profits from Volume sold, rather than Large profit per item.

My 2 cents anyway.

Must admit I'm getting a bit tired of receiving emails pleading with me to become a member when I have been one for the past 23 years.....

I know I can just delete it but it reeks of email bombing and amateur database management when it happens.

So I wrote awhile back to the club, asking if they could sort out sending 'please sign up' letters to long term members, and hey, why not even a 'we appreciate you, and here's a loyalty bonus' type letter.
The type of letter that makes you go..'aww gee I love this club that values me as a member'

anyway, i got a reply today which I find truly puzzling.
How is a generic letter asking me to join, in any way inviting me into a discussion? Yes i know about the MCG mission...I 'm an annual supporter. This response gives me no encouragement that things are on the improve with this particular issue. I feel it's generic, and a bit patronising tbh.
It also does not give me confidence to bother writing to the club again.

Good Afternoon (bg72)

Thank you for your email.

I apologise for the delay in replying to your email. We're currently experiencing a high volume of inbound calls and emails.

This particular letter was intended not only for those who are supporters but not members, but long serving members such as you. The Club sought to involve everyone in the discussion and stress the importance of a committed and strong Membership base, outlining the prize that awaits should many more join the cause much like you have.

The Carlton Football Club wants to call the MCG home, but we need the support of all Carlton fans and Members to achieve that.

If I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact myself via email, alternatively you can contact Membership Services directly on 1300 CARLTON (1300 227 586).

Kind Regards,
Sean

Just called the Membership Dept to follow up again on my Member's Polo that was paid for back in October last year.....

I'm now unable to get my desired size as all of them now have been distributed and can get a refund if the one being sent to me doesn't fit :screwy:

AFL Members club packs were logged on Friday so people should get them in 1-2 weeks according to the person I just spoke to on the phone.

Is that just the member packs or the membership card as well?

As an AFL Member with Carlton Club Support package I can confirm membership tickets were received before the start of the NAB Cup series - but as yet no membership packs as yet.

Had a phone call from Andy Collins today. Not automated, they must have some players ringing up unrenewed members to get them going.

Have renewed my AFL membership with Carlton club support and will renew my captains club in due course, before the season.
