I beg to differ. Ratten appealed to mathematicians and statisticians everywhere and I'm sure some of them signed up to ensure they got his "From the Coaches Box" email every week (or when they remembered to send one), laced with all kinds of data to whet their appetite.

Well Stephen M is right - a considerable amount of responsibility lies with Clinton Bown and I see no reason as to why Clinton can't hit the KPI's. I'm satisfied with the progress we've made.

Not sure why we've got a Ratten discussion happening though...Ratts doesn't belong in this thread. He was a workaholic who probably spent too much time analysing the wrong stats. Like players have a ceiling - so do coaches. He had nothing left to give at Carlton and the players had nothing left for him. The only correlation I see is that Carlton people will soon get used to and warm to Mick Malthouse. That should translate into a few more members. When he raises a Premiership Cup in a Carlton polo shirt - I intend to forget, albeit briefly, that he was ever associated with Richmond and Collingwood.

Off topic a little, but I just got the usual raffle phone call from the club (he said he was from the membership department), and I am pretty sure his said the raffle is to raise money for the development of Visy Park to host games in the future.............anyone know anything about this?

I thought so to, I kept the mobile number on caller ID

I rang the club it is legit but not for any redevelopment (sorry Surrey), it is done through an external marketing company. I left it with the lady to let the company know of the misrepresentation.

People speak highly of Clinton Brown but if we miss 50k I think the trail of blame should run in a different direction.
