This thread is making me want to duck in to Percy's. I used to live in Walton St Brunswick as a kid and it was just up the road, unfortunately, now it is approx 4,400km from home and the logistics are a bit more difficult.

It was memorable that first night you met Percy, and the original dinners with GWS, Wes et al taught me more about the club and its culture than at any other time.

In particular I remember Wes talking about contract negotiations with our best player of all time, Bruce Doull.

Bruce would walk into the office, and Wes would say "Bruce, we're paying you $x this season."

"Ok Wes."

Bruce walks out.

Hehe. I do remember that dinner well. Do you remember how he laughed when GWS told him my name. "Fairdinkum?" he said. "Yep" I said". Then he told us the story of how Dick Pratt punched him in the face because he made some Jewish joke, which btw he now retells me every time he sees me....

And Wes thinks we're all commos too..... (but he'd probably call stubba, duke, and sydney blue commos as well!)
