Ok... i can see a powerhouse footy club at work....

where did I say that - I said win and do it on a consistant basis then if you get a year like this year you can pinch a flag like the Swans did - You have to put yourself in the mix year in year out
Don't bottom out for 3-4 years with the hope of rising back to the top - people don't want to see losers

In the good old days when we were a powerhouse we used to win more than we would lose - even are bad years the win/loss ratio was always in the positive

It has already started. Hopefully Moshe gets on here soon because he has a story to tell from today...but they're slowly getting it right. No more are they pandering to the corporates like they used to (although it is important to have a healthy balance). There's something very different about the place. Put a call through, make yourself known. It is a two-way street. Today at the club I was greeted personally by board member and a senior staff member. Last time that happened Mil Hanna had hair.

Yeah - never been backed up with any research, so it's not something that should be said. Collingwood and Essendon* both say the same thing. Although having said that - I'd really love them to make a genuine attempt to reach out to the interstate member and engage. Those opportunities come throughout the year. Not using the past players association for much interstate travel is a big mistake.

According to that, we still outnumber Hawthorn and Richmond supporters substantially. So again, it begs the question of why their hit-rates are so much higher than ours.

Also, I'd like to think the club has shelled out the $4750 to buy our supporter profile to see who we are and how best to reach us.

If you want us to get more members, then you need to let people know that memberships aren't multi-hundred dollar propositions like they used to be. I didn't know about the 3 game membership until someone told me about it, and I find it really suits me. Since then, I've told other mates about it who had no idea the 3 game membership existed, and for around $90 is so affordable it sells itself. If you have a line in an ad that says "Memberships start at/for as little as $90". There's a start.

That's the problem though (or at least as I see it), $90 isn't affordable for a 3-game membership :?

Essendon*'s 3-gamer is $75 and comes with full voting rights.

Works for Collingwood on the BOGAN principle - its easier for the brain dead to pay $2.50 for a Can of Coke at the local Milk Bar/Convenience Store rather than $30 for a slab for at the SuperMarket.

Just read the fine print - you have to pay for a reserved seat for each game on top of the $75.
Not as good value as it looked.

There is no way I could ever go to 18 games in a season, as much as I'd like to. I doubt that many 18/11s would drop down, they would've done that by now, but does that outweigh the non-members who would then sign-up??

The Poll conducted after the 1995 season suggested that there were 1 million Carlton supporters back then.

The Morgan Poll in 2005 when the Swans won suggested there were more than half a million Swand supporters in Sydney.

They are not a definite. They are a guess bas on the numbers they polled.

The have not polled every person in Australia to have an accurate outcome.

What we know is that with success many jump on the bandwagon and barrack for the reigning premier...much much more in one team towns.

I reckon there would be 1 million people in Australia who have some sort affinity with carlton, but that's just a number.

The half million Doc's graph shows is probably closer to the mark.

We're only after 60000 of that 500000.
An extra 10000 is not as far fetched as KK thinks it is.
There's more than 10000 ex members who didn't sign up in 2012, let alone the 450,000 supporters out there who have never bought a Carlton membership...there you go.
