The Membership Dept's answer on the cooler should be "as a Carlton member, you'll already be cooler than most, so it's superfluous to your needs"

Nah, they'd make it a 'reward' for signing up early like the crappy hats apparently are.

I'd prefer they had an option to take out the crap and just pay for the games and seats.

Quite frankly, Only thing worthwhile is the fridge magnet advertising where, who and when we play so the wife knows not to double book me and also to highlight the Friday/Saturday nights I may be drunk upon arrival home.

Everything else is garbage, even the cooler would make my eyes roll.

The crap is for the kids who are still way naive enough to think they're getting something for free.

Whatever is in the membership pack is paid for by no one else but yourself....

Carlton could be truly innovative and introduce a 'build-your-own' membership.
They won't though.

Well...Fremantle and Port you get stuff all, but I was surprised to see what the Eagles and Swans had to offer. That leads me to believe that the GC and GWS Victorian memberships will be around for quite a while and this isn't some 'introductory handout' based on their recent introduction to the AFL.

I'm quite sure none of the other clubs would care too much about this unless there was a large uptake or sudden spike in supporters of Victorian clubs buying an interstate clubs' membership. That isn't likely to happen. Still...I find this all very interesting.

Not as much as Victorian members of other clubs.

Cap. Keyring. The all-important lanyard. Stickers and fridge magnet.

GA entry to a couple of home matches. $2 discount (or something equally as pissy) on away match seats.

Whoop de f'ing do

KK - I was under the impression interstate and long-distance members would be receiving an I AM CARLTON apron in 2013...not a cap. Is this incorrect?

They won't though.

They might, but only if they can charge you a premium for the "privilege"

My mistake. So I'll get something else which according to MrsKK shows I'm just "the house bitch"

There is no interstate membership

its 'long distance membership'

$130

and we get @#$%&! all

Access to any 5 home or away games in Melbourne.
Personalised Membership Card
Member Lanyard and Ticket Wallet
Member Scarf
Bumper Stickers
Season Guide magazine
Inside Carlton magazine
Exclusive weekly emails from Mick Malthouse
Access to purchase a ticket through the Club for any interstate games played in your home state.
Priority access to purchase finals tickets in Weeks 1 to 3 if Carlton is participating.
Match day access to the Social Club room at the MCG and Etihad Stadium for home games.
Social Club Medallion
Chance to win one of two double Change Room Passes at a game during the season.
I AM CARLTON Apron (Adult Members Only).
I AM CARLTON Lunch Box (Junior Members only).

and still have to pay the ticket price to go to carlton games here in WA (if lucky enough to be actually able to secure one)

and being in WA or even other states far away from melbourne - how many people that these memberships are so called designed for - get to 5 games in melbourne?

The criteria is 120kms from Melbourne CBD. So that's a 1.5 - 2hr drive to allow for traffic. I'd say plenty. But therein lies part of the problem. Needs to be a fair dinkum interstate membership.

Oh...and fellas - when you get the apron - can we start a separate 'Apron' thread with attached photo of you wearing your 'I AM CARLTON' Apron? Cheers!
