Some of you guys....

Who's kissing feet?
The man has spread himself across the boards and has set down some objectives, acknowledging the need for the CFC to co-operate with its members.
Why not take him on his word, applaud the intent and expect results?
Now he's not here to please each and every one of us individually, but if the broader cross section of supporters feel they finally have a voice then we may just be moving in the right direction.

Let's give it a chance and foster some positivity. Who knows, it may just become contagious.

Does he?
I didnt get that impression at all.
When questioned about interstate memberships and voting rights, Ruffy started talking about the breakdown of our game allocations. :?
Or am I incorrect?
Either he doesnt understand the question or more likely, he's unaware of the issues.

Its fantastic to have board members interact with the supporters but its a shame it only happens at election time. Perhaps thats something they can take back to the board. Dont just interact and show interest when you want our vote.

I'm not here to play "ask Ruffy"on everyones elses behalf Harker.
I have 2 Gold memberships that offer me full voting rights.

I'm just commenting on a statement made by another poster.

Knock yourself out and follow it up.

I do desperately want to be encouraging about this Harker and Mikkey.
Really!
It's just I found the article and filmed q and a touch patronising , and misguided in the face of real concerns.
It may not be true, but the way I perceived it was, a shallow and gratuitous attempt to lift his profile, and procure some votes.
I have never so wholeheartedly agreed with Synners.
We need real connection. Grro, and BV as always articulate things I have felt.
It gave me no confidence that things will change.
Look, Ruffy is probably there because of family connections isn't he?
I know nothing more about what he does, than I did before.
I didn't want or need to know who his fav player was. Ok, that was a question asked, but there were plenty of important q's that were overlooked.
When people are 'fluffy' in a situation that needs sincerity..it makes me bloody cross.
So, for me, the chance was there, and it's backfired.

(edited a bit, so as not to be overly rude. I appreciate the attempt by Ruffy, but think there is a long way to go.)

This is a topic that I wish Ruffy could have addressed.

I appreciate he can't answer every question though and it's a positive that he's on here at all.

Not sure of what some peoples expectations are here. A one-stop shop 30 minute fix all maybe?
Sorry for my lack of diplomacy at times, but it's no less than some of you are affording Ruffy.

Just give him a go and offer as much courtesy as you'd like to be offered to yourself in his situation. Not too much to ask, is it?

May take BV's advice and knock myself out, although I have a couple of hours yet before any serious indulgence. I'll get there though.

So far its a middle of the road effort on all counts... that is taking into account we have tradition ally been a powerhouse club.. and they dont have re build a minow... all they have to do is TAP INTO what was there in the 80s and the 90s as far as support is concerned.

Just a reminder.. this is not the Bulldogs StKilda or North.... its the Carlton footy club... many many great men have paved the way to greatness already....all these guys have to do is tap into the heartbeat of this club.....even that is proving difficult for them....
Its difficult because they actually dont understand what made this club great.... theyre looking in the wrong areas.

You see... these guys were not around when the real difficult job of creating greatness was achieved... they all came some time later.. when people like george harris had already recreated it... yes recreated.. the club was in a black hole for 2 decades then too...
Harris had the balls to have a vision and followed it through.. he wasnt copying anybody else .. he was using initiative ... breaking new ground....and doing thi ngs not only first but better....

These guys having come later... and thus not understanding to restructure and ressurect the phoenix.. you must be unique.. u must be ground breaking.. you must have great big balls.. and you must have a vision ... not a vision like 20 flags by 2020.. as cute as that sounds... its just fluff...its buzz.. its meaningless and its more false bravado.

These guys are tapping into the 1980s Carlton swagger... beacuse they knew that swagger... what they dont know is how we achieved that swagger from the black hole we were in...

Theyre trying to manage something..... copy whatever

Theyre not restructuring the club with a vision and an uncompromising and unique gameplan of the likes nobody has seen before...
Takes some brainpower.. alot of work.. balls and leadership....

Cant do that??.. dont bother about the board... youre not needed.
We dont want managers.. we need inovators and go doers.

Keep this in mind please guys.

Don't be upset if your question isn't answered. There are a lot of us asking questions and Im sure Ruffy is answering as many as he can, across multiple forums in limited time.

Please be polite and curteous in asking your questions.

Good post, Synbad. In order to be great again we have to be different and innovative that leads to competitive edge, then ultimately leads to success.

If we get more of the same from these board members, we'll lose even more members - I'm on the cusp of jumping off as I've had enough of mediocrity at our club.

Two years ago... it was 2 in 5 years...
now its 4 in 8 years.....

If we are fantasizing .. why not make it 8 / 8???

Am i supposed to take these blokes seriously???

Id be happy with one in eight years... but before i can hope for that....

Show me something we are doing which is so great noone else is doing.

The other stuff is clicking your heels together and wishing.....

harker... mickey....

Lets get serious now...!!!!

I know these guys think maybe we are negative... and they believe the social media outlets can create some kind of Arab spring... revolutions.. wars won or lost with the digital media... etc... sso they think if they can give the blogs a positive slant.. therfoe less negativity... stuff will be infliuenced towards the improve...

I challenge them to not worry about winning hearts and minds with words and false hope.. but win them with building GENUINE BRIDGES ,hard work and inovation.. and people will jump on board....

Stop the bullshit propaganda..shoet cut for short gain mentality.... and connect with members in a GENUINE AND SINCERE fashion for starters... thats a beginning.. and then knuckle down and think out a real blueprint for success... using inovation and great energy.

But before you can do that.... be true to your club and supprters.

After all the supporters are your greatest asset.. i wouldnt be isolating them.

Second.... we know you dont have the answers... how do we know you guys dont have the answers??/.... well you headhunt from Collingwood everything that moves... cos you believe the answers are at Collingwood.

Collingwood are succesful beacuse they are striving to be number 1... by stealing collingwood we will always be a pale reflection of collingwood but at Carlton..

To be the best you have to be at some apex first.. not second... chances are if youre copying.. someone else is alwso copying and all you will ever be is just another face in the crowd...

Question Ruffy... what great inovation has Carlton come up with that everybody else wants to follow....?????

Build something magnificent that your supporters can feel part of....

Were spoilt at Carlton.. we knew only excellence... its hard to swallow shit... even if you guys put the best polish money can kind of buy on that shit....

I'm, over this sort of shit.

When are we going to reclaim the mantle of greatest club in Australia?
How are we going going to do it?
Are we going to tackle this mob head on?

How can a less successful club make these claims?
We need to get on the front foot...side by side, pfft

WE ARE THE NAVY BLUES!!!

First step is that key members of the Board are made aware of these concerns and I think this has been achieved.

Yeah well he says he has been on the board for TWO years ...and heading or part of the membership subcommittee???.... and now he is looking at fixing the disconnect.....
Means he has performed unsatisfactorily for 2 years....
Maybe Ruffy is more suited to something else.....??.. maybe supporter connections arent his thing...

Im not sure why they have to ask us whats wrong with the state of things...
Moulton blames apathy... obviously thats what theyre telling each other around the table...

Regardless... it seems to happen around election time.. and then pushed under the mat again....

I wonder if Ruffy would employ people like that for his own private family business... and whether he would be satisfied with performance after 2 years... this is no different.

Now if Ruffy was just elected on and he started with this to find out where the club was at... that would be different...
But two years is two years... and he has sat on the sub committee for two years and right now he is in exploration mode.. to find out what bothers us.... (cue election time)...

Id love to see some commitment from these guys....!!!...

Im a cynic.. im keeping tabs to see when this "get to know the supporters drive" falls off the cliff and into that Carlton Bermuda Triangle

Im talking about genuine stuff here.. not half baked... pretend enthusiasm stuff that is all fluffy but has no underlying core and soul..
