Really good to hear that on both hikes players have listed Bootsma as the bloke leading the way.
Just hope he's building muscle not losing weight in the process.
Young lad deserves some praise.

Bootsma was the player that caused the CFC some grief for coming back overweight so he may just be the butt of some in-jokes from the boys.
Bell also came back with a bit of a tummy bubble, but that was largely because he couldn't train. Bootsma didn't have such an excuse.

Boots returned overweight? He was a rake and needed weight. Hopefully he turns it into muscle & doesn't return to initial weight.

There's the right sort of weight and the wrong sort of weight. Bootsma returned the wrong sort of weight.

Phew, glad you cleared that up, because I heard Boots came back over Waite.

Yes but expensive for the club which probably shouldn't be wasting money it doesn't have.

Loved the fact that malthouse has led every walk/climb........no one has been allowed to pass his lead.

He has completed and struggled in each one - just like the guys - right from the front

He is shaping his team

I was thinking that myself but then I saw the players saying how tough it was. How tough can it be if a man nearly 60 can do it.
Are Carlton players soft

Eddie mcguire was worried coaching might kill him. Maybe this is what he meant

Sometimes you can't put a price on these things. If it brings them together more as a "team" then it could be well worth the money spent.

No doubt an awesome experience and there is no guarantee that Carlton are footing all this bill anyway.

The club does not exist to return a cash dividend to its members/shareholders. It exists to win premierships.

As long as any debt carried by the club is manageable and expected, does it really matter.

So investing in the players seems like a fine idea to me. We can argue whether Arizona is money well spent, but Mick reckons it is and the way footy clubs work you pretty often give the coach free reign (within reason, of course). We'll just have to wait and see.
