Just wanted to give credit where credit is due because i feel like we do spend alot of time talking about the negatives of the club even though we get so much pleasure throughout the year watching our team! Today I went into the membership dept and was looked after by Sean he did everything he could to give me the seat changes for the family i wanted , we even got to chat about the recent changes at our club .
Great to see everything moving in the right direction Keep up the good work Membership Team :clap:

Interesting comments yesterday from the Hawthorn president on their view of Membership. I am paraphrasing here;

Members ARE the club

Membership is not only about the numbers of members, it is about the experience the club provides to its members

Successful membership promotes a sense of inclusion between club and member

One of their key measuerments of success as a club (outside the usual grand final and profit indicators) is a 'sticky' supporter base.

Hawthorn's membership rose 7.4% last year, in a fairly tough economic climate off an already high base.
-----

I would think there would be plenty of lessons to be learned by our club in teh Hawthorn experience. No, we don't have a pool of tassie supporters waiting to sign up. However there's clearly a framework around the membership element of the club which Hawthorn manage extremely well to have so many members and to keep them engaged.

I hate Hawthorn so much, but that is the right attitude for a club to have toward it's members.
the members, players, staff and admin together build the soul of a club.
When you leave out a piece of that chemical equation, you have missed what makes a club great.

Yep, the RSPCA are very pleased with the way Hawthorn treats its members.

Still undecided on whether I renew. The membership department has in the past few years, been poorly organised (never receive membership card and merchandise) and I wonder at the value. I may be back in Melbourne in July but historically that is around the bye and I only get in one game. Paying $120 for one game is a bit steep and I don't need to merchandise that goes with it.
I guess I have the call to make whether I make a "donation" to the club or not.
