You wait until you see the look on his face when he tells them to hug the boundary and the balls keep sailing over the fence :)

So as we come up for our first game under Malthouse, how does everyone feel about him? Have you found an affinity for him? Do you like him? Do you trust him? Have you embraced him? Is he Carlton?

I'm still really struggling with it to be honest. Can't get used to him in the navy blue polo. Can't get used to him talking about Carlton as his club. After loathing the man for nigh on 30 years, I'm finding it hard to let it go. I'm sure it wont take long once the real stuff gets under way, but the for the moment I can't buy Mick Malthouse as a Carlton man.

When he holds up the third of his threepeat cups at Carlton he'll be forever remembered as the great Carlton coach who also coached at a few other places once upon a time.

Looking forward to it.

I hear what your saying and I understand, but when I heard him speaking on the radio today, I just didn't feel the love. When he used to speak about Collingwood I always used to feel like he loved that club. I don't hear love. Maybe it's just me

I can't say I hate him as such, but I feel conflicted about warming to a man who I took great pleasure in seeing heart broken at the end of the 2003 Grand Final shedding tears with Licuria.

But then again he did call Milne a rapist and looked like he wanted to kill him. So he can't be all bad...

Jeez, a bit hard to feel love for a club and a group of players he's coached for a sum total of ZERO games!

What you heard from him at collingwood was the feeling that comes from coaching a group of blokes for their career, and being part of a place for a decade, getting into grand finals, winning them, all the highs and lows. If he was professing love for carlton without ever coaching us in a single game, I'd think he's full of shit.
