Can we only promote 2 rookies?

I'd be keen to get Bell onto the Seniors list.

We can promote as many as we want.
It sounds like we have offered Bell a deal to be a Nominated Rookie in 2013 and elevated to the senior list in 2014.

Assuming Bower goes, doesn't that give us 2 spots? 4-2=2?

Just to confirm for those that seem confused. Bower and Russell are basically gone off the Carlton list as of now. If they don't get picked up as free agents they get delisted and go into the draft like any other player. They are not the Clubs problem any more. What we want is for another club to pick them up and we may get compensation of some sort.

But the most likely team in Port isn't like to take on JR as it will/may alter the compensation they get for Chaplin. If JR goes to Port it I think might include some exchange of picks.

Regards Cazzesman

I think Cazzesman meant Thornton, not Bower.

Until the list is lodged they are technically ours I would've thought? Thus why we can still trade JR to Port.

do you reckon we may look at filling our needs???
''tall forward''.
keep pick 11, but why not trade 33, 52 or a player swap.
most clubs are filling holes on there list, and we seem to be content with what we have.
why not make a play for gumby?
3 year deal, pick 52, or ellard.
look at the hawks,
need another forward, jack gunsten
need another ruck, david hale
need another defender, brian lake
need another mid, shaun burgoyne
just think we should be making a play for a key forward, saints gave up pick 12 for a need basis, tom lee.
are there any other key forwards that we could get our hands on?
are people happy with, waite, casboult, rowe, hampson, mitchell?

We havent got a premiership list, we shouldnt be sitting back watching.

Caddy is worth pick 11.

Saints Tom Lee deal is also worth it. I would of been happy picking up this 195cm ready made dead eye fwd and still having 2 picks in the 20's & 2 in the 40's.

I cant help but want something to be going on in the background to ease the doubts.

Good news on the Jefferey Garlett front.

He's sorted out a few important things.

Could turn around and be twice the player he was in 2011.

Forget about 2012.

Now hurry up and come back to Carlton.

............soon.

How do we know what pick 11 in this year's draft is 'worth'? How do we know trading it to get Caddy would suddenly make our list a 'premiership list'? How do we know how we'll go with our second and third rounders? It's about time we stopped making excuses and learnt to back ourselves in.

If anything, I'd be looking at what we could get with one of the ruckmen, even if it was another draft pick.

because the guy can play and is over he's injuries.
because he is a key forward who is mobile.
because he will come very cheap.
is monfries worth 4 years?
is goodard worth 750/800 per year for 4 years?
is troy chalpin worth 4 years?
are you happy with our key forawrds???
why not make a play for a key forward?
any others you can think of?
mitchell and rowe have a LONG way to go
casboult and hampson can mark, but can not kick to save there lives
waite is worth 5/6 games per year, and is 30
henderson is a defender
not many options if we are going to play finals next year.
not saying gumby is the answer, but we need to bring in a ready made key forawrd.
what about pick 11 for tippett?? 5 year deal worth 800/850??
all other areas are ticked off apart from a key forward.
malthouse comes out saying we need a forward, well reckon he is right, now its time to get one.
maybe zac clarke from freo?
maybe robbie tarrant from north?
so if there are no other options, yes i would put an offer on the table for gumby,
3 years at 200/250.
would take the pressure of waite and casboult
maybe
garlett waite betts
walker gumby casboult
just my opinion

we have no money

especially to waste on hacks for the 'sake of getting a forward'

we have enough on our list to work with
