I agree give the guy a chance - just been appointed -its a bit like being devastated about our performance in the tradse period before it is started - seems an intelligent guy who has experience in the area - and lets face it player development is one area where we need sognificant improvement

He seemed to confirm in his interview that we were only going to take 3 picks in the National Draft I know this is not his decision, however its dissappointing in this deep draft that we are only going to take 3 young players (in anycase I hope its young players).

Deep draft?

O'Bree has signed with Geelong.
Wonder who our midfield coach will be.

Looks like Michael Gleeson and Jake Niall were telling porkies about him being 'secured' by us

Fingers crossed it's Bassett, although he's rumoured to be going to Hawthorn

Both he and Mcleod will finish up with Norwood on Sunday, so should hear something about both early next week if appointed.

I like the idea of getting Mcleod, a very clever choice by Mick with an added bonus of extracting the most out of our indegenous boys that look up to Andrew so much. Especially Yazz!!

whether its a good or bad thing i'm not sure, but it seems since teh appointmnet of Malthouse and Wiley all other links/rumours of people coming to the Blues as a player or coach has fallen through Cloke, Big Q, Tippett, O'Bree, Ling etc

You'd imagine some of this is reported just to sell papers................

However, with Ken Hinkley believed to be confirmed as Port Adelaide's new coach on Monday, a move to Victoria seems more likely for Bassett, with Hawthorn the likely destination.

He would join former Carlton coach Brett Ratten as a new assistant to Alastair Clarkson at the Hawks.

FWIW, another Hawks rumour (although, probably just the same one regurgitated).
