He aint coming.

For a big priced contract player to come... we have to offload.

Caddy / Lynch (or) are much more realistic at this time.

Dont get me wrong... lots of players have been interested to come... Mick M and the new board dynamics has drawn a crowd.

On the board front the early indications are all positive....

Now if we can cull the board and lose Sticks we will be on our way to somwher e.. still .. i doubt sticks will be calling the shots at the club from now on in.....

now they need to remove the pie warmers and party pies from the board meetings and get really serious about running the place

Away from the publics eye the club has made some massive leaps in last few years after being left for dead by some other clubs

That said we are still along way behind in a lot of areas

Adding mick will ensure a lot of the crap behind closed doors will be cleared up

He is megalomaniac and combined with the investment we have made will ensure any rogue operators will finally be pulled into line

cant help but feel we have dodged a bullet not getting cloke.

whilst he may have been good, i just couldnt accept the price tag that was going to come with him ... good luck to collingwood paying the price that they will ... id rather we didnt as i dont think he warrants the type of money he will get.

If he makes the difference between winning a flag and not, he would be worth the money. Impossible to quantify of course, but I am one who believes he could very well be that difference.

Likelihood is we'll never find out.

Caddy big time.
Lynch big time.

Cloke hasnt been a chance for the last 2ish weeks.

Oh and why we never went for Goddard???

SAlary cap.

We'd have to lose players.
We would for Cloke too.. but was seen as more necesssary kind of player by MM

Thanks Synners. Answers my own query as to why we didn't go for Goddard, although on 2010 form (2 years ago I know) he'd be just as valuable in our line up as Cloke I think. Still don't think Lynch is the right move. Caddy we'd have to trade for obviously, is he going to be that good? I've not really seen him play.

Sick to death of this whole Cloke circus. Don't really care if we get him or not.

Have to agree. Which is kinda sad, because I know a player like Cloke would be a huge benefit to the team. But all this bullshit has really exhausted me to the point where I don't give a shit anymore.

JUST GET IT OVERWITH ALREADY!!!

..a player like Cloke, i agree.. ..he's in his prime sure, but Hendo's gonna be reaching his prime soon.. ..has v.good CHF craft, build the fwd line around him.. ..he's still young, early 20's.. ..if he was still at the lions we'd have a thread on him for recruitment..

I agree BKB....Hendo is the CHF we have but plugging a big hole down back with all the shorties we have in the backline.

I agree that Henderson is our best option at CHF. The question is whether we need him more down back. As I posted yesterday, given MM's philosophy of defence first, he may decide that Henderson is more important back than forwards.

Jamison being fit and Watson taking the next step could change that of course.

Having said all that, I do think Henderson has shown more at CHB than as a forward. He looks a natural CHB.

IMO he looks like a natural CHB too, but also a natural modern CHF who covers a lot of ground. Great athlete.

People forget he's still a kid, and we got him for a song in the Fev trade...cost the Lions pick 6 IIRC.

..lions grabbed him with pick 8..

..in regards to this opinion that he's a better CHB than CHF, if you look at his season stats for 2010 when he was played primarily fwd for us, and this season where he's been mostly a defender, you'll find that his stats are pretty much even, with only slight variations.. ..going by stats alone, he's not playing much better at all in the back half, with more time and development into him.. ..and argueably more 'sharing of the ball' as well when they switch play to the other side..

Thank god!

@AFL Collingwood has just re-signed Travis Cloke for 5 years and Harry O'Brien for two. More to come.
