Synners

I agree with you we're;

- better off as a club with MM on board;
- initially financially worse off with Ratts out & Reilly remaining;

However, it's not Ratts fault he got an extension or the club offered & signed a contract.

Surely that's the board's decision & therefore the board's responsibility. It's the board who need to be accountable for financial outcome of commercial offer not Ratts.

Personally I'd rather be where we are today than for the board not to have acted and to still be in a holding position embracing mediocrity.

Cheers

No I didn't...I expressed an opinion that you were just repeating yourself...it was actually from a personal standpoint not as a mod, although others have expressed that opinion to the mods recently.

You may not have posted over the the last week, but your post sure sounded the same ol' same ol'.

Now I'll put my mod's hat on...

if you want to complain about the moderating there is a forum to do that. Please feel free.
Everyone, as per the rules of the site, please restrict opinions on moderating to the appropriate forum. Any future posts will probably be moved over there.

And no...I don't think you're a smart ass.

Mrs Cazz.. so you can on a personal point of view jump in (not as a mod) and make a point that has nothing to do with a thread... against someone who was actually tying in a point to a thread....and thats in the rules???

It might be repeating ourselves Mrs Cazz... but i bet u can find that in a zillion threads...

If we disect talking footy... we will find people talking a bout the same things .. over and over and over again.... even if they dont type but just plaster pictures all over the place....

Its a football forum...... people say stuff get challenged say it again....and again and again... cos its a pretty tight time of the year news wise............theres not a hell of a lot going on if you havent already noticed... so use your foe button....
People really need to get over themselves.....

Why the need to protect a footy forum.. noone is being abusive.. and those that do are protected ...

I think it is dangerous to make Ratts "the devil" and the complete scape goat. The problems at the club are far deeper and Sinners has been talking about that for yonks. I think it is wrong to lay all the blame for under-performing on Ratts. So lets not do a witch hunt. He will get his money of he works or not. Blame the Board. Not the first time a coach has been paid a years salary.

Let's focus on if MM is able to improve things.

Mrs Cazz... you might not agree with how many times i post my opinions... but it gets thread some stimulus....

you see???

Imagine we were all the same??..... just a flatline.........................................................................................................

crickets

zilch

Forums arent about what you agree or not agree with......

I think thats what people have difficulty with....... they are not supposed to make us feel comfy all the time....

I liken it to having your dogs testicles removed or your cat muted....

People love to live in their own private idaho...........

Is Ratten really not going to work for a year? What an odd thing for a career coach to contemplate doing. Not to mention bloody boring.

This'll be Malthouse's toughest gig. Hope he's nice and rested for it.

If he stands out of football next year he's finished as a coach at AFL level. He isn't a Malthouse or Roos.

Bond did alright for himself, made a motza in radio. But bond made stats sound kind of interesting. When Ratts talks stats it sends you to sleep.

We've gone from Parkin's intelligent tirades to Brittain's honest homilies to Pagan's old-school cliches to Ratten's dull meanderings to Malthouse's faux-losophies. Quite a journey.

Straight to the failed coaches version of the elephant's graveyard.....

Went to the AFLCA awards last night. After kicking on at 23, I had a chat in the lift with an influential person at Port. Ratts was definitely not going to get the job and thus pulled out. He said that contrary to media drivel, they had had some very credible applicants and the position had now been filled - I tried bating him but I wouldn't tell me. We chatted for a few minutes about our respective clubs and jovially went on our way.
