We gave a swap of third rounders and a fourth rounder for Laidler actually.

Which was the 2nd from the Jacobs deal.

John Ralph reporting 206 got a payrise when he re- signed. Sorry John bad guess, incorrect.

One of our ruckmen just has to go you'd think, especially with the 2nd sub mooted

That will make it even more relevant. MM wants some big forwards and will go with one ruck.

I can see him playing Kruezer or Hammer supported by Lynch (if rumours are true) and Casboult rotating through FF/FP.

Salary cap pressure eases slightly as total player payments increases $352,000 for 2013 and
$493,000 for 2014 and Additional services agreement ,(marketing) increases $239,000 and $111,000 respectively. Take into account Thornton's, Bower', Kerr and Russell's wages, $800,000 perhaps... thers $1.4 M for 2013,
although some players who signed new contracts will eat into that figure a little i guess

What happens if Cloke gets a job emptying pokies on $600K a year? Is that a reasonable salary for such a demanding job?

any truth in pumping up brock "the shock" mclean in the media to get something half decent out of him in the trade period where at the start of the year we would of got nothing but a delisting and a massive waste of cash. surely this is true and he is not going to be given a new contract. common sense please prevail and trade him

This is not as crazy as it sounds, if for argument's sake GWS were to take Brock McLean as an uncontracted player - we would get a 2nd round draft pick as a compensation pick, could even a first rounder.

If it was me I would take it with bells on.

Personal issues with Jeff...nothing to do with Carlton.
Obviously Carlton is his employer and he needs to toe the club line.
It's his issue. Really for him to sort out himself. It is not going to be easy.
Not Carlton related, although I hear he is a bit embarrassed atm.
He's in Perth right now... his girlfriend in WA but not in Perth...as is his child.
It's doing his head in. Yazza and Bettsy can't help and have tried.

Really nice kid.
With a great mentor atm explaining why Carlton is now so important to him.
This aint going to be easy....awful situation...don't blame Carlton and don't be angry with Jeff. What will be will be.

Not against this, but can't see it happening. The Club is in Premiership mode, they want to win one in the next couple of years, and I suspect will trade and possibly even draft for the now. McLean I would imagine would be seen as someone who could assist that process in the next couple of years, especially if it helps free Judd to play more of an outside role.

If there's considerable interest in Moloney, hopefully there'd be a knocked back suitor happy to take the next best thing?

It all sounds a bit cryptic, the bottom line is that you have do balance what is best for Jeff with what is best for Carlton.

Believe it or not, little old mikeychook here knows the gist of the full story as well. I hope Jeffy can get on top of it all. I've bagged him on here and once again, as with other players I have bagged, have been regretful once the truth is apparent.
Good luck Jeff.
