Bell probably has an offer from another club i reckon...but he should do the right thing...

I believe that the Bell rumours are crap. Nothing to them. My guess is that he will be offered a contract extension to 2014 with a guarantee to fill the McInnes LTI next year and then be upgraded. For this he will get a small pay rise. He will essentially be treated as a Senior listed player.

I can see MM turning over some players this trade and draft period.

Out: Russell, Thornton, Kerr, Bower, AJ, Ellard, One Ruckman

Upgrade: OKeefe, Casboult, Touhy

New: Caddy Toy plus a KPP

That would leave ONE draft pick which isn't anywhere near enough. We will want 3 minimum so will be interesting to see how we will do it.

KPP possible options are: Cloke, White, Rivers, Lycett, Lynch, Brown, Gumbleton, Chaplin, Pederson, McKernan, Cook, Cornelius.

Runners: Caddy, Toy, Gysberts, Salopek, Ellis, Moloney, Stevens.

There is some real talent out there and to add some of these to our list would be huge.

If we can keep pick 11 plus two more picks min. we will look really good.

We're getting Caddy AND Toy?

Are we getting Goddard, too?

White has signed for 1 year, Dale 1 more year as a rookie and Tuohy elevated to the senior list.

A poster on BF says that Bell has been offered a 1 year rookie deal by us, but a 3 year deal by another club.

Also mentions that Touhy has been elevated onto the senior list. Sounds like the Bell story must be true. If other clubs want him then they will have to trade for him as rookies can now be traded. Really disappointing situation.
How many more still to be re-signed? Names i can think of are Watson, Laidler, Collins, O'Keefe, McCarthy, Mitchell, Davies(?), Duigan, Curnow, Casboult, as well as Bell.
Thats quite a lot for this time of year.

I can understand it, but I would be absolutely devastated if we lost little Jeffy.

Re: Garlett. It certainly makes sense when you consider his on-field efforts this year. But I'd be really upset if we got rid of him and he'd just turn into one of those opposition small forwards who tears us a new one every time :| Hopefully it's just a warning to him that whatever issues he's having need to be sorted.

Re: Bell. I like what I see. I really do. But who the hell is offering him 3 years based on 7 games? If he's demanding that sort of contract here tell him he's welcome to go elsewhere.

I don't think he's demanding it a 3 year deal, just wants a senior spot, which is fair enough.
If the choice is between a 1 year rookie deal and a 3 year senior one somewhere else, it is a no-brainer.

You're probably right. But if he is wanting the club to match the 3 year deal offered I think that's a bit much.
