i would have thought a great coach like ratts who took over a basketcase club and took them to the finals.. ony to be crulled by injuries and scapegoated would have jumped at the chance to do the same with port???
he can prove the knockers wrong...

personally i think they told him he was sub par and wasnt in the running...

Yes, hard to believe he turned them down.
He would have seen their potential when we played them.

Dig away, I think there club are fooked. In more shit than we were in 05-06.

Prospective coaches questions would cover many things though some would be more important - id say support cast resourcing would be very limited.

Considering 2 have pulled out and one ass coach doesn't even want to be spoken to speaks very loud.

Don't get too cocky fellas. Malthouse saw it all too. Our players still have another kill in them and a frail, senile old man will be easy pickings.

Loads of coaches have withdrawn from the port gig.

Club, just my opinion, but i think we will be more competitive against the might of GWS, Suns and Port next year.

Rubbish.

Lets assume you are correct and that Port knocked him back. You think they would be happy to look like an even BIGGER basket case by having a number of coaches knock them back, rather than go out to the world and say that these coaches were not a good fit for the club????

Delusional.

Im tipping we will start off well for the first month, then win one lose one for the next month then lose 3 or 4 straight in june/july then win a couple before going one win, one loss til the season ends. Depends when we play those teams i reckon and if we have to play under expectations of winning. Then we will crack.

Disagree. I think we may start slowly while we get used to MM`s style (similar to Lyon at Saints and Freo`) then have a solid second half of the year.

I m just tipping there will be massive improvements in players....

im also tipping mm will have this team playing with more steel.

Lets face it... Ratts was a shit coach....!!!

negative tactical nouse and players playing to a fraction of their talent....
He was gifted the job by a mate...

Plus they the players... they didnt didnt rate him......

The stupidity of this situation with Port and some peoples preceptions... is Port is the worst club of all time... (but they smashed us).... and that nobody will ever coach Port again......... and that coaches have never coached shit footy clubs before.

Lets face it....

Its an excellent gig for a coach..cos its a chance to coach an AFL team..... money will be guaranteed by the AFL....
Youll get at least 3 years ....

Ratts would have made money coaching 8 seasons plus.... who the hell gets to do that?????
Especially a lightweight like himself.... Is he waiting for the Hawthorn role is he???

Some people have got no clue..... :screwy:
