He'll back himself in and so he should.
Ratten coached his team to within a few points of a preliminary final 12 months ago. Hell have confidence in his ability and rightly so.

He also coached the same side to loses against Port and Gold Coast and struggled against top 4 sides. There is so much more to it. Stuff it up and he could become irrelevant very quickly.

Ian Thorogood missed out on a Grand Final by one point. Then missed the finals the next year by one game. Can't remember if he walked or was punted. The latter IIRC.

Perhaps Ratts should come around to your home for a chat. You might enjoy a cup of tea together while he explains to you how you should live your life and what your shortcomings are in your working profession.

Get off his back and let him get on with what he wants to do, not what you want him to do.

Cazzesman was a huge supporter of

The VFL coach in Hyde
Cordy Well they all had a go at this guy didnt he?
The development coach... he ran off to WA with his tail between his legs too.
Sticks
Watson... will go the way of the others too....
Half back flankers

etc

All failures!!!... every single one of Cazzesmans posterboys failed miserably...

Cazzesman argued for these guys till he was purple in the face.....with some weird kind of psyche he is pretending he was right all along.

Strange psychological behaviour....

Hope his judgement in recruiting young talent is abit better than what he has tried to convinc.e us with so far

Its a concern.....

Yeah you are right.................loyalty is extremely over-rated in life.

Loyalty to friends, lovers, peers, superiors, employers etc etc.

Loyalty! Pffft! Over-rated!

Your motto is simple - Lets just stab everyone in the back and drag everything down to the ground and society will be so much better for it. :screwy: :screwy: :screwy: :screwy:

Dont come here lecturing me on loyalty Cazzesman.

Youre loyal to a bunch of mediocre people... im loyal to the club thats being run down into the ground and humiliated by these very average individuals.

Youre getting confused between individuals and people.

Let me put it another way...

This club is 150 years old... how many 150 year old people do you know????

Dont confuse loyalty with being a sycophant.

Its different.....

Sticks
Ratts
Hughes

Pffffft

Getting mixed messages about what Ratts wants to do;

He wants to coach;
He wants to know why Qatar for him and Arizona for Mick,
He thinks Mark Riley has been unfairly treated,
He is offering an opinion on Carlton's captaincy,
He is saying the club should not lower its standards i.e. top 4,

I'd have a cup of tea with him and tell him if he keeps looking back he won't see what is in front of him.

Yes I already talked about that piece of shit article.
1. Have you read it? The headline bears no relevance to the article.
2. The article is made up of a bunch of out of context responses to listeners' questions.

In short, it's rubbish.

Not sure how any of Ratts comments come across as bitter?

Closest is maybe the one about qatar v arizona but he probably would be a bit confused about that particularly if the first you heard of it was in an interview.

I wish him luck with Port or whoever. He didnt have a lot of luck in the carlton coaching job so it is probaby due.

His sacking has not been proven to be a good move yet.

I read the article and he offered an opinion. The press are asking him the questions because they know they will get some sort of response.
If Sticks was any kind of leader he should tap him on the shoulder and say Rats shut the flower up and move on.

Who says they are bitter?
He was aksed at the press conference about who he thought the new coach would be? His resposne was I don't care because it is not me.
He needs to have that attitude to all things Carlton if he in fact wants to be a career coach. If he wants to be a media performer then he can go for it.

This is all becoming very unsavoury. Caroline Wilson and Robert Walls are all taking pot shots at us and the way the club is run and it is really putting a bitter taste in my mouth. The way they're talking it's as if we're the only club to ever have a leadership spill and coach change. Caroline Wilson going on about how the club hasn't embraced MM. What's new about this that sets us apart from other clubs?

I just hope the club knows what it's doing; that we haven't hit the panic button, that the review of the club's workings takes place in an objective environment that emcompasses everything what the club is about?

I wouldn't say he's bitter.

But he's not Carlton coach any more, and what happens with pre-season, assistant appointments, etc from now doesn't have anything to do with him.

I know this is a Malthouse discussion, and we've gone off topic, but FWIW, I think Ratten's best options are a senior coaching gig (anywhere, including Port), or a senior assistant's role at GWS, with a view to taking over from Sheedy. RIsk if he gets a standard assistant's role is that he becomes one of dozens of assistants wanting a gig again, and he may get lost in the pile. For a sacked coach, he actually has a little currency right now, I think he should cash in on that if he can, while he can.

Back to Mickey though...

He and Juddy both have that 'tickler' thing under their bottom lips. Imagine how much of the rage that's going to be when captain and coach hold up the Cup? Every 12 year old kid is going to want one...
