fitting Cloke in was not without its problems

Fitting Cloke in for Collingwood will also not be without its problems

Difference is though, is that Collingwood players seem to want to stay for less money. dont think they will lose anyone of note at the moment.
Ask Carlton players to take a pay cut to fit someone in, wont happen.

Not sure what you base that last comment on Drew. Are you aware of the players not taking a paycut?

People should keep in mind that this whole Cloke scenario for the last few months has played out like an off-Broadway play and while there have been a few iffy performances from understudies with bit parts - for the most part it has received rave reviews.

In Act 2, Scene 1 - Phonse Carringbush (father to Elizabeth) suggests to Gregory (Elizabeth's love interest) that unless he makes a 'decent woman out of her' he risks losing her to Brighton Henfry. Elizabeth of course, has no interest in Brighton Henfry. Their family has been in a feud with the Carringbush family for over a century. However, town gossip abounds when Brighton Henfry is seen having tea with Phonse Carringbush. Gregory makes haste and rushes to be with Elizabeth. They are now betrothed - the marriage ceremony will be Act 2, Scene 2.

It would be better if you incorporated the Malthouse situation in it somehow.

That's why it's Off-Broadway. Give me some decent writers and I'll have Mick doing a jazz hands and tap-dance routine in the Gardiner Stand.

No, its just perception. Like how do Collingwood keep Close whilst paying him $1M per year, and then have stars like Pendulbury, Thomas, Swan on big money, then Ball, Jolly, Shaw, Wellingham, Didak, Tarrent, Reid and the rest. They seem to sign most players quite easily, and I dont feel they would do it without some players getting less than they would normally demand.

The impression I got when Murphy was asked about a pay cut for Cloke was that some players were not happy to go down that path.

Just a perception thats all....

Well clearly the dress rehearsals would be held at the Malthouse theatre.

Do not believe that he would have met with our people on Friday a day before he was playing a final,
this is complete garbage, this would be so unprofessional & unethical for him to do this.

Who cares what you think.

I said that he did... (or his representatives).. and i also said he will most likely stay... 99%

What you think about that is your business..

Whilst there is every chance Cloke may EVENTUALLY remain with the Pies, your storyline or your source's is flawed he or his management did not meet with Carlton on Friday the day before he was about to play a final, how would you feel if one of our players had done this, and then in the same afternoon you state he is remaining at Collingwood, you would have to be naive to believe this.

Do not believe anything has changed from a month ago, and any decision will not be made until the Pies have finished their season.

Take it easy sticks25, whether he or his management met last Friday is largely irrelevant - in the end the only question that matters is will he go or stay ?

I think a few months ago the Pies thought $#^ it, let him go if it means we will lose players. Now we have Malthouse they can't bear to let us have Cloke either so they will potentially lose other players to get Cloke.

We may get Wellingham!

He has written that it may just have been his representatives in brackets. His management can do whatever they like, they don't have to take the field.

Would be some interesting locker room banter between Simmo and Robinson over that.

Just read something on BigFooty (probably just talk) about Wellingham going to Melbourne. Works for me, Collingwood lose a valuable player, we don't have to have the sniper and Melbourne will forever be useless regardless of who goes there. Someone is going to get squeezed out if Cloke stays.

Lets hope that if Cloke does stay at Collingwood that Sticks jumps up and down about how Collingwood could fit all of these players under the cap, just like Eddie did with us.

Richmond are going hard for Wellingham too. If you hear Sharrod denying there is truth to the rumors of him going to Melbourne, it's because he and his manager would prefer Richmond. His flatmate would prefer he goes to his club, but that ain't gonna happen. You don't recruit someone so they can be your full-forwards chauffeur.
