Most major media outlets note we are requesting to play the pies round 2, it is an interesting request as I feel our current fixture of Tigers, Lions and Pies first 3 rounds is a perfect launching pad for the season with 2 wins rolling into a big break before playing the pies.

Irrespective of round 2 or 3 we will draw 85k plus yet if we move this game I wonder if we are giving up a huge advantage we had this year.

- Tigers Thursday night
- 7 day break before playing Brisbane (who I think had a 5 day break) Thursday night
- 8/9 day break before playing the pies Friday/Saturday night, they then recieve 6 day break.

You couldn't wish for a better fixture

After losing to the GC, I wouldn't be penciling in any wins against anyone just yet. Malthouse or no Malthouse.

I'd be requesting that we play the bombers twice in the final 5 rounds, thus avoiding them at the start of the season when they're red hot, premiership favourites, hardened athletes, and getting them at the end of the year when they're injury depleted, unluckiest side in the comp, coulda been contenders..

If the AFL can screw up the fixture in so many other ways, why not the above...

Lose to Tiges, then Pies...
Get on a winning streak,
Make the finals, make the GF
against Rossy's Freo
only to be outcoached by the infamous genius,
and lose by a point. (hopefully it has nothing to do with Kade)

People would still be happy with that as an improvement wouldn't they?

Or would they not have recovered from losing the 1st two rounds?

It's gonna be such an intriguing year. A lot of good teams and coaches out there now.

Exactly! Will take a while to grasp a new game plan.
