Nothing wrong with Cloke coz he's bloody good, but i would take Goddard .Provides that hardness and precision around the guts..............Goddard would be a FANTASTIC get for our club.

I thought the whole idea of sacking our incumbent coach was that our list was good enough
but he wasn't.

Now I'm hearing we need to top up with Cloke, Goddard etc to have a crack at a flag.

So why'd we sack our coach again .. ?

Because we want to challenge for a flag not get flogged By gold coast and port and finish 10th , quite simple really, not rocket science.

Cos he couldnt sting more than three or four wins together ... and couldnt win more than one eliminational fnal.

He also brought in Chris Johnston...Brock McLean Judd and Warnock... why sack Pagan???

Its not our fault. we've developed a submissive masochistic personality.
We crave someone to come along take control, tell us what to do and take all of our money.

A bit of direction would be nice, a plan B and a coach that makes our 'super-stars' work the other way when the opposition have the ball would be nice

To all those who:

a) Feel sorry for Ratten
b) Don't like how the club knifed its coach
c) Think that Malthouse or another well credential coach cant fix our list

Think back 12 months ago to the whole Mark Harvey & Ross Lyon saga and what was said at the time about how Harvey was knifed and how much of basketcase the Dockers were.....Well look at them now.

I cannot believe how many people say they dont want Malthouse and that we should have kept Ratten.

Oh no. There will be carnage if we miss the finals again next year after the Dockers win tonight.

Saying you don't want Malthouse is not the same as saying we should have kept Ratten.

In Swann and sticks obession in getting Malthouse for 2 years , they forgot to look at all coaches that can coach and Ross Lyon is one of those....I just hope that Malthouse still has it ,as Ross lyon was a big miss and to think he coached our reserves in the early 90's....The swann and sticks legacy to this football club will be determined by the success(premiership) or failure of Malthouse....

Sticks exiting sooner rather than later will expediate success....

Nobody thought the Dockers were a basket case. Everyone understood they were heavily impacted by injuries and 2012 was always a year of expected improvement.
And sorry, just because Lyon has success (If he does) guarantees Jack Shit at Carlton. You're drawing parallels to suit your argument which are totally irrelevant. (Unless we swap Lyon for Mathouse)
How can the deeds of an individual on the other side of the country possibly impact the performance of Carlton?

Did anyone hear what Lyon said (as much as his voice and tone bore me to tears) ? He said just because they had won one finals game they had acheived nothing! We on the other hand limited to what we wanted to achieve by saying 'This year we want to make finals', 'This year we want to win a final'. Well F me how about we get into the finals and go into to win every finals game we play. I just got the feeling all we wanted to do was to pass the above criteria to get a pass mark . Sorry Ratts loved you as a player but bring on Micky Mouse Malthouse

Do you think it's possible now, that every time MM loses a game, (if it's always the coach) we'll have the 'Shoulda Got Rossy' threads?
Such fun!

The "top four" statement was made in the context of our previous 2 seasons, the goal was to finish top 4 after the home and away season so we could have a home final. then we move on to the next step.

We obviously failed in that goal and so the consequences have been paid.

Rossie's statement was in the context of winning one final, I'm sure he's now setting the next goal for his team.

I heard Chris Scott had 2 craps in the morning last year before a game.
I've also heard Mick has 2 craps in the morning.
Ergo, get Mick, win the premiership!
