Do we really need a forward?

Our forward line (talls) currently consist of:
- Casbolt (forward/ruck) - plenty of upside
- Mitchell - plenty of upside
- Waite - unreliable but his best si terrific
- Rowe (forward/ruck) - his impact at the blues is still unknown
- Hammer (ruck/forward) - he is our best option in the ruck and as a resting forward. How good was his tap down to McLean just before he did his knee? Hammer can do what Kruezer can't and that is take a grab. I haven't included Kruezer as I don't rate him very highly in the forward line.

If we are after Cloke and/or Lynch, which player above has been told to move on? If none, the Northen Blues will have the best forward line next year.

That would make it odd wouldn't it? :)

Was told yesterday along with Russell and the rest rolled on today.

Club is probably holding onto the sliver of hope that we might get a trade for Bower, which is irrelevant for FAs Rusty and T-bird.

So that's Russell, Thornton, Bower, Kerr so far of the senior list.

Need another 3-4 minimum I believe.

Bower's exit was about to be made official, however as he was leaving the meeting he strained a calf muscle in the hallway and is still being treated by team doctors. Remains on the list until cleared.

1-2 weeks.

How many exactly do you think we can clear?

We already have 4 off the main list and 3 off the rookie list
Doubt we'd go 11 deep.

Still in some doubt may be Davies (senior) and Carter (rookie), but yes, anything is possible.

Scotland might be another to leave. Mick and Heath don't see eye to eye.

Lucas/Warnock/Hammer - all possible trades

McLean - might walk if he doesn't get the $$$

Scotland's a real possibility for a number of reasons.

We may trade a ruck for an early pick.

Joseph maybe. If he wasn't contracted I'd say definitely.

Rowe a possibility dependant upon health.

Others still under a cloud and possible MM wants to speak with them first is Davies, White, McLean, Ellard and Duigan.

Duigan is the interesting one. Some would go ape-droppings if he was traded, but it might make sense if we can get overs for him.

If MM is the coach, whatever it takes (in terms of trades and delistings) to get a Premiership, we should support.

What do we want, two draft picks and two rookie elevations? Let alone any free agents. Get real - what kind of list management/development is that?

Well 4 are already off the senior list which gives us 6 spots.
I'd elevate 3 (Casboult, Tuohy, Bell), so we should cut 1 more for 4 ND picks. If we get a free agent, maybe cut 2 more.

No he hasn't. That's just your most recent recollections.

Hampson's first 6 games this year were much better than Levi's late year run.

Hampson is also by far the superior ruck-man.

It wouldn't make sense to trade Duigan. He is not hurting the salary cap and he is one of a very few who will run hard in a straight line at the ball. He would not pull out from a contest. He is the sort of player who can follow a coaches direction and would have the courage to be Peter Dean like in a GF.

Why elevate Bell? Odds are we will have McInnes as a LTI anyway. Wastes a spot.

Levis contested mark is far superior to hammer.

... doubt any will agree but I'd have hammer as main ruck and levi forward

Love krueze but hammer was in far better form than krueze before injury

I agree with you Harker.

Hammer really showed a lot early in the season.
Naturally he has a few detractors, as all players do, but he's the one I'd be further developing.

Levi just has to get that kicking right and then he's a bonafide AFL player with his size and those great hands in the contested mark situation. He's shown alll the other attributes to make it in the afl...other than his damn kicking
