Rumour has it Malthouse is gonna institute a 'one mo only' policy at the club. Armfield is outraged and thinking about heading back to the West where dodgy facial hair is not only accepted, it's encouraged.

Okay, I was told last night that all asst coaches apart from Brown will go and MM will bring in own team. Most still under contract so big payouts.

In for a penny, in for a pound.

EFA. That's how we balance the books around here.

This is starting to be a very expensive exercise. Expect some large donation at Board level from those who wanted MM.

Haha! Doubt it. The Pratts and Mathiesons wanted Roos...how flushed are the Sticks & Swann lobbyists?

I can add (as its been documented on here) that Jeanie Pratt has been after Paul Roos from the middle of the year. Further, an extremely wealthy and influential Carlton supporter (not on the board) is among a few Carlton heavy weights to have gone so far as to suggest to Jeanie that she pull her $x annual donation to the club if we go down the Malthouse path. So whilst it is a done deal, there are many that are still enraged about the Ratten payout and the rush to sign Malthouse.

Once again, not everything is pretty up the top at Carlton!

I assume you are talking about Uncle Bruce, but reminded me that I noticed Fraser Brown lurking around pre-game last week and wondered where he fitted into all of this considering his (from outside perception anyway) influence about the place and his close relationship with Ratten.

Well Jeannie couldn't get Roos.
And the board that she is VP of turfed Ratts out.

I'm over this whole Roos business.

The bloke doesn't want to coach us... full stop. Don't buy that sh*t about not being available this year.... but will be next year.
Couldn't come to Melbourne because of his wife.... his son has year 12 to complete next year blah blah blah.

I'm gonna put my food in it now and offend some people but i don't care.

The guy was going to be offered $1m + a season.. could have been in the vicinity of $1.5m.
For that money... you tell you wife to grin and bare it seriously. Grow some balls. Its a half arsed excuse if i've ever heard one.
Im sure he could have been away from the family for 8 months until they moved to Melbourne. I'm sure she likes the money.

You only have to listen to the guy on the Couch to know he doesn't want to coach us. He has been so negative towards Carlton for sooo long its sickening. I don't love the idea of Malthouse at 60 Yo being the coach, especially long term. But at least he comes across as having some desire to coach.

Paul Roos can stick his wishy washy attitude in his rear.

I'm disappointed some of the old chestnuts on our board cant see this.

The way MM is playing the media he is making CFC look as if it is doing the begging by the umming and ahhring. Then making demands about talking to his family first, his wife crying, blah blah,

If he is interested say so.

iF IT IS A DONE DEAL DON'T MAKE HIS NEW CLUB LOOK LIKE FOOLS. WE CAN DO IT OURSELVES.

I'm sure the club would have much preferred that he came out in June telling the world that he would like nothing more than to coach Carlton in 2013.

Would have made the whole transition so much smoother.

Too much worrying about the "now". Within a week it will be sorted and everyone will be on the same page. New coaches and delistings will be announced and no one will worry whether it took one week or four.
