Get the strong impression that we are really in the market for a number of players. I think there will be a fair turnover of players and MM will want to bring in some ready made players and SR will want some talented kids. I can see 10-12 changes to the list.

We need to get rid of the average players that we have persisted with over the past few years.

Possible outs: Thornton, Russell, Bower, Curnow, Joseph, Kerr, Rowe (rookie), Davies (rookie), Ellard, Carter, Heyne, Scotland, Collins.

We could easily trade a ruckman & Garlett. Maybe get something for Russell.

If we can add guys like Cloke/White/McKernan, Cook, Gysberts, Salopek, Caddy, Toy onto our current list plus 5-6 kids I believe that would be a great outcome.

Surely Scotland deserves a 1 year contract?

Also Psych, I reckon that Collins could be one of those players that MM can turn into a really good player. Kicks well both sides, always presents, always looking to get in the play and is courageous. His occasional decision making and execution errors are symptomatic of a guy who doesn't believe that he belongs at the level bc his coach didn't believe in him.

I will never forget his game against Geelong. It was his best game for the club until then. What does Ratts do the following week? Make him a sub. What happens after that? Gets 25 minutes of action, doesn't set the world on fire and it's back to the seconds. Dumb man management.

That's why I said possible. Scotland is 32-33, doesn't play the accountable style that MM likes and has a MAJOR issue coming up in October.

Collins I like, who knows what MM will do but there will be some major changes. I'm just throwing around possibilities.

Re scotland
Bit like tarkyn lockyer at the end, keep him as a depth player and transition to coaching role at northern blues at end of next year.

The irony is that Heath Scotland was once coached by Mick Malthouse all those years ago!

Not sure that's "irony" in the context of the current conversation...

Jordy Russell is one player who won't be at the club next year.

Which club's taking him? If he's over his hip problems, he could certainly return to his 2009/10 form.

Then he just has to get over his head problems.

From what I know St Kilda are the ones chasing him hardest with Richmond also keen.

Hopefully Port are not able to lure McCarthy back to Adelaide.

Would make the Jacobs trade even more painful.....

Heard anything Effes, or just going by the rumour (posted by THIRODIS, under a different name I think) from BigFooty?

I think his elbow injury is a bigger concern.

Bulldogs supporter on the BF rumour file thread says he spoke to a Carlton player that said Russell has been let go.
