There are plenty of players who are looking at getting the chop and we all know who they are.

I think if the Club wants to be ruthless with the player list they should look to offer up Gibbs or Yarran as trade bait. Realistically, they play the same role albeit with slightly different styles. Yarran can run, hit targets up the ground and also kick goals on the run. Gibbs reads the play well off the HB line, can spot up targets and can also take marks (including F50 and kick goals).

I think they will both bring in excellent players in a trade and that player may fill a hole somewhere for Carlton. At the moment, both of them are doing the same thing.

Having said that, if one of the two moves into the midfield for the majority of their game time next year (and either could do it) then I would retain them both.

Other than those two, the only real trade options I see are Walker (too many forwards if Mitchell and Casboult regularly play in the future) and one of the ruckman. These players are also worth something on the trade table and would correct what I think is an imbalanced list in the future.

Surely Warnock is trade bait.

Kreuzer is our #1 ruckman and Megan Gale is too valuable (& I suppose Hampson can play).

I'd foresee Warnock departing for a pick(s) to make way for $$$'s to pay for Cloke.

Get rid of Thornton, Russell, Bower, Curnow, Joseph, Rowe(rookie), Kerr, possibly Scotland.

Trade Hampson or Warnock for young gun or early draft pick.

Maybe get something for Russell?

Like to see an injection of 7-8 good young players onto list with priority on disposal, speed and decision making.

Hopefully a very good free agent as well.

Scotland will get another year.

How can you delist Rowe when he hasnt even been given a chance.

Get the strong impression that we are really in the market for a number of players. I think there will be a fair turnover of players and MM will want to bring in some ready made players and SR will want some talented kids. I can see 10-12 changes to the list.

We need to get rid of the average players that we have persisted with over the past few years.

Possible outs: Thornton, Russell, Bower, Curnow, Joseph, Kerr, Rowe (rookie), Davies (rookie), Ellard, Carter, Heyne, Scotland, Collins.

We could easily trade a ruckman & Garlett. Maybe get something for Russell.

If we can add guys like Cloke/White/McKernan, Cook, Gysberts, Salopek, Caddy, Toy onto our current list plus 5-6 kids I believe that would be a great outcome.
