How about:

Carlton 2013: we'd better win or Mick will be grumpy and then have a heart attack and Nanette will cry and Eddie will say I told you so?

You know..like 'A season to shelve was 2012'

It's all very cheerleaderish and effeminate ...

'We're lean, we're mean, we make the green, we're the Blues of 2013 - yayyyy Carlton*!' (* wave pom-poms)

A Knife to the Spleen if Rhys O'Keeffe is never seen in 2013...I think that's Shakespeare...

...having said that - the best one was 'Beauty mate, Blues in '88'...oh how I miss the 80's!

Sticking it up Collingwood's collective Cloaca in 2013.

Inspired by hearing AC/DC's You Shook Me All Night Long, Carlton Football Club General Manager (Communications) - Ian Coutts, pens the slogan for the 2013 membership campaign.

It is a fast machine, we keep the motor clean
It is the best damn midfield that Mick's ever seen
Working double time on the forward line
It is one of a kind, and it's mine all mine

Against the wishes of his marketing staff, the board approve the Dennis Walter/Stephen Kernahan-sung theme and it is rolled out via various TVC, radio and website platforms to the chagrin of the AFL community from the Commission to the common supporter.

Sony Music Entertainment sues the club for copyright infringement and Carlton are ordered to pay $2.3million in damages. After 21 years service, Ian Coutts is forcibly removed from Visy Park. A vote of no-confidence is upheld against the Board at an EGM. Sticks removes any semblence of a mullet in an attempt to go incognito. Greg Swann returns to work from a disclosed location as a consultant at Ernst & Young. Despite not knowing it's real meaning, the Unofficial Selection Committee pronounce a fatwah on Sticks and Swann.

A group of influential Carlton supporters form a board with AFL approval, though their identities are unknown. Harold Mitchell and Bruce Mathieson deny involvement despite numerous claims from Caroline Wilson and Eddie McGuire. The group becomes known as the 'Syndicate' - their only contact to the outside world made via a man known simply as 'The Smoking Man'.

These are all good for a giggle, almost as much as those we've actually used in recent years, but may I suggest that, rather than yet another cringe-worthy slogan, we simply don't have one in 2013?

Seriously, is one needed? Has anyone ever signed on the dotted line for the their footy club on the basis of a clichéd slogan? Even that old chestnut, 'any advertising is good advertising' must have ever-diminishing returns for us after years of this crud, as ridicule in football circles can only result in so many column inches and water-cooler jibes aimed our way.

Hire some good people, stop putting our collective feet in it, and have a period of success - that'll bring the members.

2013: let the football do the talking.

Ah there it is.
Half way down page 2 ... I was waiting for someone to say it ... well done Ruckus.
I hate the bloody things.
We've never won flag in a season when we've had slogan !!!
Therefore if we don't have a slogan, we will win the Holy Grail !!

(My attempt at cryptic humour - keen Python fans might get it).

Surely a bit premature to say that.
