So who from Talking Carlton will be attending? Should be an interesting night. The date was obviously booked on the premise that we would be playing finals. Given recent happenings the timing is certainly awkward. Will we have announced a new coach by then? If yes, will Ratts be in attendance? What about the new coach? What about players that have been delisted? I know when I attended the 2001 B&F, Kris Massie knew he was being traded and the atmosphere was a little sad.

Are we waiting until finals are done so the B&F doesn't become a distraction?

Oh, hang on...

I'll be there, paid up our tables last week. Was a great night last year, will probably be a bit sombre this year but hopefully that'll be overpowered with a new energy for the future. Curious whether Ratts will be there and I guess it'll be the last time to chat to some of the guys who'll be gone.

Used to go many moons ago when no one knew who would win and it was held at the footy club...hard to justify these days to be honest. Still remember the 1993 medal count fondly as a brilliant night that continued well into the next day. If the residents group didn't complain before then, they certainly did afterward.

I wonder if the goblets were ever returned to Braddles? Last I saw of them Peter Dean had invented a 5-pin bowling/billiards game at Naughton's, and those goblets never quite looked the same again. For memory, Paul McCormack won and thus 'won' Braddles' goblets.

Cool story bro (sincerely). So tell us, who will win, without any shred of uncertainty? Y'know, since it's fixed now and all...

I wll get to one of these one day, will need to be a bit further down the track with mortgage - missus still rips into me about having a MCC membership plus CFC memberships (reserved seats for H&A) for myself and two of my kids even though they hardly go

one day, bucket list

It's $200 Bomba. Start saving $3.50 a week from now and you'll have it next year. "One coffee a week..." and all that jazz. How much do all your memberships cost? HEAPS.

Carlton one costs over $1000, maybe closer to $1200 as my eldest daughter is a Uni student plus MCC is $475

Missus is a kiwi (dont hold that against me) - so AFL isnt her cup of tea and cant understand the fuss and she hates cricket even more

Thanks (sincerely) for putting the 'sincerely' in (as I can't for the life of me pick sarcasm on this board lately without the use of a  or a  )...

To answer your question, I'd have to know some inner workings of around a dozen contracts. But let's just say Dennis Armfield will poll better than you probably thought he would have. Judd claims the JN Medal. Carrazzo, Simpson, Murphy and McLean round out the top 5. Surely Gibbs doesn't claim a minor spot (Total TC voting has him 5th, I have him 7th)...but it's the B&F...stranger things have happened

...and no. I won't be going. Neither will Ratts.

You think Judd will get the JN? Can't see it happening to be honest, regardless of agendas. 4 weeks out, today was a write off and I can think of about another half dozen he was very ordinary in. Will be good to see McLean poll highly considering he's played half a season. You don't rate Scotland? A bit down on last season but played most games and been reasonably consistent. Yeah, heard Ratts say he probably wouldn't go, a bit of a shame but I can understand he wants to move on quickly rather than hang around as the ex for another month.

Agree re: Judd, but still think he'll get the chocolates. Yes, I rate Scotland (very highly) and even think he probably deserves to finish top 5 - but contracts being contracts, I don't think he will. Maybe 6th for Heath.

Can you elaborate a little on this contracts thing? So are you suggesting that those who are contracted for say 1-2 years are favoured whereas those coming out of contracts not so much? Is this part of the marketing for the Club to supporters? ie. we'd rather see Murphy win and be a player for another 6+ years than a lineball like McLean or Scotland who could be out the following year?

Agree with Armfield , reckon McLean will come storming home . But not enough games to win. Will be interesting . Betts and Scotland should do well too, due to they sve played most games. That's gotta count?

Player bonuses should be scrapped this season and donated to the Ratten/Malthouse Transition Fund.

Can Garlett scrape into the top 20 having played every game this season?

Perhaps. But moreso marketing related payments. Every club in 2013 has to devote $852,000 in marketing and other commercial payments to players outside the salary cap, which is an increase of $240,000 from this year. It's not cheap to run a footy club these days.

I think Scotty Watters could have given Jeffy some votes today, he certainly helped the Sainst win the game
