Williams has also put his hand up for the Carlton top job following Brett Ratten's sacking last week, although Mick Malthouse is seen as odds-on favourite to assume that position.

Hope he gets a decent hearing from the board

Mark Williams poised to leave GWS to join Richmond

Might already be too late but personally who cares except it might have kept some pressure on MM and Eade. Still got a feeling we jumped a bit early and should have kept Rats for another year to finish his contract and in the meantime worked hard to sew up Roos from 2014 on.

Why wouldn't Williams just stay on at the giants and take over after next year. Obviously doesn't trust them?

Williams would be an ideal coach for us at the moment. He is a teaching coach which we badly need and he wants the job. MM is still making up his mind.

Stuff MM. We don't need wishy washy people at the club.

I'm sure he has a get out clause for a senior gig

Thread started at 9:15 when the Richmond story was already confirmed? Bizarre. Put his had up for the Carlton job? WTF? What bullshit!

methinks there is a bit of using the media to position whilst terms and most importantly salaries are negotiated

Have they got enough doughnuts to satisfy his ever-expanding gut?

They have heaps of doughnuts - doughnuts for finals, doughnuts for flags in the last 30 years, doughnuts for good culture.............

Choco may just want one of those little orange fans for the coaches box.......

You'd like to think we'd at least chat to him about the job. He fits the Sticks criteria ("senior coach who's won a flag") and certainly wouldn't take any crap. If we offered him the senior gig, you'd imagine that would override an assistant gig (unless he's an "assistant" the same way Bomber is #800KAYEAR).

if williams has already accepted the richmond development job then he must know that the carlton senior coach position has been already filled. As we all suspect. FFS Carlton stop the BS and just announce it. Wankers

Or we turned down his application. Not the same thing. Regardless: case closed.
