The less I see of our players on TFS the happier I'll be.

had a nervous sweat going. Not sure why the club would inflict this upon a player

Because they're a bunch of easily satisfied softcocks whose definition of success is a couple of wins in a row and a couple of flattering articles in the paper and they fully deserve a public grilling?

I love Murph as a player but a few things from that FS interview if I'm not mistaken:

- Doesn't really speak with a lot of passion for the club (maybe nerves? he was sweating like a chinese nike factory worker).
- Didn't really have a lot of positivity about Ratten at all. When asked about the player's responsibility he kept going back to the Gold Coast game when the questions were about the season in entirety.
- When further prompted, didn't really seem convinced that the players were responsible for Ratten.

So either he's been briefed to give those answers or MM didn't do Ratten or the playing group any favours in supporting their outgoing coach.

Someone tell me I'm wrong. Please.

I didn't read it that way. He was put in a very difficult spot.
It's not like he can slam the board for their decision.

I think Murph was trying to navigate through without getting himself in a pickle. I think his media work has improved overall, but last night not his best. Understandably nervous.

Murphy's stubborn refusal to acknowledge anything other than a poor (and 'embarrassing') performance last week was too obvious to not have been by instruction.

Not too sure who advised him there, but not a lot of faith was shown in Murphy to think (or speak) for himself, or his mates, I reckon - not a particularly good sign given this bloke is seemingly the anointed successor. Looked more uncomfortable than he has for a while, although his media appearances are bland at the best of times.

Judd aside, from a group that seems to be relatively well stocked with introverts, only Carrazzo, and to a lesser extent Jamison, fill me with any confidence when dealing with the media. Tough gig for our media and marketing folks.

No pressure, Luke Mitchell, but please step-up and be the alpha male we need, both on and off field. Too soon?

I love that description.

We need to recruit alpha males who can win their own ball, and kick.

Shane Rogers, go get 'em.

Murph's bland at the best of times. Someone had to do it. Must have drawn the short straw.

He was apparently pulled from the sunday footy show by carlton, so this appearance was kind of expected.

Just a reminder...

if you win..... and you have credits ... noone can say shyt to you.....!!!... if you are a loser... well you get these times...

so please remember that murph and go to the pre season and work on all the things u need to work on (with your teammates) so next year youre beasts... and you dont have to squirm in the corner no more.

that was pathetic...!!!.. and righly so... they all took turns to take the mickey.

success is so much more fun...

I think he did the show because he was promoting his charity September something or other.

I saw it the same way. I know that he is always a bit bland when speaking but he came across as cold and clinical and unwilling to take any responsibility (e.g. he never said that the players in particular could have done more but that the "everyone at the club" could have done better) etc. Contrast this to Heath Scotland's comments today...

made me sick to watch it actually and quite pathetic. like "we couldn't reign in the lead - FFS they got to within 4 points with 12 minutes to go. any committed team would have steamrolled gcs. and what did a REAL team do today to gcs - crows by 91 points
