This isn't the first Wednesday press conference, and this isn't the first time Ratten hasn't handled it.

Coutts made the mistake of not pointing that out in addition to informing the media he didn't think much of them (which is hilarious given that's supposedly why he has a job despite all sense of logic).

To clarify? Idiots should have just released a statement repeating what they've already said, and finishing with a polite @#$%&! off.

We are emotionally incapable at every level of the organisation it seems. Perhaps Ratten is the only exception.

It was never going to be easy to finesse this given the circumstances (particularly the fact that the die was only cast in the second last game of the season, as opposed to a season with 5 wins).

Wow, that's quite extraordinary actually, even surprises me. I don't think Ratten is the coach for us, but I wouldn't have thought a winning percentage of 51% would place him that low on the list.

We also hadn't won a spoon until 2002. Ratts took over a bottom of the ladder team, and football operated under a very different system until the last 15 years.

Sad day for Ratts. There had to be a sacrificial lamb and unfortunately Ratts was it. Hopefully the players will have a long hard look at themselves.

Agree completely ... Our club and a large number of supporters have a lot of growing up to do. The thought of Malthouse in charge of Carlton is revolting. Very poor form by the board and a short sighted decision (I think ultimately we can thank the Pokey King for this). The drovers dog could coach an injury free Carlton into the top 4 next year. Malthouse better win us a premiership within 2 years ... or its a FAIL.
