If only Ratts game plan was as good as his final press conference. Great Carlton man.

Now let's see if anything will be done about the rest of bleeding obvious problems.

He seemed like a man with a weight lifted from his shoulders.

I hope the club come to their senses and don't hire Malthouse. We wont win anything with him in charge. Overlook him please.

Have a look at some young untried coaches and even Eade and Chocko.

Malthouse will take us for a ride and it will be the end of us.

Club I am keen to hear your reasoning for not wanting Malthouse because 'we won't win anything', then in the next sentence you say you want Eade?

You are right. Deep down it is just my opinion and i should have stated that.

I see Eade as a the right guy. He almost got there with South and then almost with the dogs who were training on a cow paddock and doing gym in a school portable.
Absolutley no resources.

Malthouse has not been able to get the job done on Grand Final day since 94 and he has had a few goes at it with the best resources in the buisness. He is now older and to me looks spent.

I for one wiould like to go on record as thinking this is a huge mistake. I am firmly in the camp that says we would have made the top 4 apart from injuries this year. Obviously it is only an opinion because we will never know. I am not interested in people swearing black and blue that we wouldn't have because it is only their opinion and we will never know that either. We will also never know if Ratts could have delivered us the next flag because like may before him, he was sacked before he had a chance to do it. OK, MM may well deliver us a flag next year but if he does, it will be with the same list plus maybe one or two from outside and I sincerely hope Cloke isn't one of them.

Agree.

I've been on record to sat that I'm against the sacking as I've little doubt that a semi-full list would have seen top 4 this year and whoever coaches next year will get there as well.

Though Ratten handled himself extremely well in the press conference and expect he will be a senior coach again sometime (perhaps as early as next year).

Definitely DONT want cloke

This is the best i have seen Ratts in a press conference. Well done to him, handled himself wonderfully well.
He is determined to coach this week, i think another club will snap him up as an assisstant.

Would be ironic if he popped up at Collingwood, to fill Eade's shoes after he shuffles off to Port.

Sticks said that? Wow, first decisive thing from him for years. Hopefully we can now concentrate on developing our own KPPs and end the speculation.

Absolute class from Ratts. Well done.

My other take outs from this presser;

Sticks is wrapping up this year

Swann's basically confirmed Malthouse by body language and being so careful with his answers.

Didn't say we wouldn't pursue him, just said he thinks he should stay at the Filth with his mates. 2 different things.
