Yeah, I was surprised at how little attention that gained from Healy and Roos. I thought I must have misheard him.

While he hates Carlton, his philosophy is sound.

Sounded to me like he pulled it out of his on the spot rather than from any insight or whispers.

Doesn't make much sense.

I tend to agree.

This talk of bringing in MM and his army of assistants plus Clokey has got me excited. Maybe I am desperate to cling onto something, but still if its got someone who usually has a fairly critical eye on things and goes week in week out, its bound to get those toying up whether to get a membership on board, and that is a huge factor in this.

Can someone clarify what it means when they say Malthouse will bring his own assistants.

It's my understanding that Malthouse will decide who he wants to keep on staff and who he doesn't, if he becomes our new coach. Most likely he will procure assistants he's worked with before or rates ("his" assistants), and his name alone should lure most assistants across you'd think. Of course, this is all conjecture but so is MM coming to Carlton at this point.

Makes no sense at all. Williams would be earmarked to take over from Sheedy in 2014, why would he want to go to a club where that's not a possibility?

I can still remember feeling full of hope when Denis Pagan got up at Princes park a decade ago & said he'd have us playing collision football and expected September action.

Whoever we get as coach I'm not going to get excited about anything this footy club does until we can do one basic thing a decent side can do: win 5 games in a row.

Caro's article today states that we sacked parkin twice, surely she couldn't be wrong?

Would there be a role in the FD for someone like Craig Bellamy - good tactician & creates a hard edged professional player culture.......?

I'd say when you get an MM, you get what he wants. So unless MM wants CB, then when we won't see him around the club.

Craig would be a bold move, but if you wanted to get a coach from another code with multi-dimensional player movement, you cannot go past Ric Charlesworth of the Kookaburras.

I dunno about everyone else, but if MM were to coach us, and brings Cloke and all his assistants with him, do we need to be reminded that this is Carlton, and not some sort of Collingwood alumni club?

I'd be taking closer look at the assistants at Hawthorn for one.

I'd be surprised considering how much he seems to dislike us. I think he's a definite upgrade on Barker though.

I smell SEN BS.

If they phoned this in *next* week then it might actually be believable.

Who are they suggesting has chosen Monga? Ratts??
