Rhino is definitely one of my favourite posters and very funny.....

Anyway....

back on Sticks...

There is nothing "Panta Rhei" about Sticks....exxcept the years that flow by from our lives...
He is a disciple of Elliott.. and before him we had Pratt who is also from a simlar era.. having served as VP under elliott.

This club needs 'A clean break' a quantum leap into the future...

Sticks needs to man up and detach himself from the club by walking away taking Ratts, Elliott and the other '95ers with him to allow a new phase to commence.

The old Carlton is gone.

100%. Time for him to put the club before himself, as he did as a player.

FWIW, he told my mate on the GC that there'd be a "few changes" made and apologised for the showing Sat night.

Agree with above. Richard Newton should become the interim Reluctant President until we can secure the right person.

"a few changes"?

FMD, that's like the captain of the Titanic saying "We just need to plug this small leak".

In fairness, he didn't mean small changes, I took it as meaning multiple.

Like when blokes say 'I'm going out for a few drinks". Generally that translates to 24 pints and a massive spew.

I just hope that the whole coaching circus does not distract too much from the need to review the admin of the club. Interesting today I heard Walls on SEN mention that he was not surprised we were far behind in membership with the attitude of the admin. He had rang the club a couple of times during the year and was promised a call back, but nothing happened. Said that if a former player and coach gets treated like that, what about the members? Interesting comment.

I'd like to know who is doing the review and what is the criteria and questions being asked?

I just get a feeling it will be a few sitting around a desk saying what do you think?

As much as anything, issues need to be resolved in our admin. Membership, Sponsorship and Communication are just a few areas that need major improvements.

Totally agree. But is Swann is really as good as we thought. This is his area.

I do however think we have made good progress in the social media and with the web cast. I had a few chats with the guy who is running this area. He is young and enthusiastic, has a few things in the pipeline and is open to ideas.

But Carlton's greatest ever captain and one of its absolute top-shelf players cannot lay claim to being one of the Blues' finest off-field operators.

Surely the review that Kernahan keeps referring to needs to take in a very intensive critique of the 12-person Carlton board as its starting point. Surely.

The only area we have improved.
