Those who think advocating the removal of ratten means you don't have a proactive plan. Here is mine.

A) embrace the draft - Rodgers will do this if allowed
B) delist or trade coach killers (soft players) Gibbs garlett etc within 12 months of new coach arriving
C) list cloggers delisted now
D) impliment game plan around functioning forward line. Cassoult must mprove kicking within 12
E) appoint murphy as captain
F) recruit a big bodied developing ruck as our rucks are weak
G ) Scotland retires to captAin bullants
H) 7 person board that includes McClure or walls or Parkin
I) coaching committee established to appoint best coach
J) new coach to impliment real match day tactics. Actually make moves when we are down
K) review fitness program to tailor around strength for some and speed for others
L) swann replaced. Kernahan replaced by fahoud

Don't you mean
Hird at Essendon*
Worsfold at WC
Buckley at Collingwood
Voss at BL

yes and when theyre no good they will be sacked.

bank on it...

That’s inevitable; no one lasts in this business forever but don’t sulk if I don’t take your advice any time soon.
Voss inflicted our first finals loss under Ratten then gone backwards and he’s still rebuilding.

Worsfold was well and truly under pressure and he’s now top four.

Hird with Thompson still early but have stagnated some would say gone backwards after last year making the finals, is it too early to call for the proverbial son head yet?

Buckley first year and still too early but inherited a premiership side (some would say boys club) an Eddie’s love child.

Ratten like the commentators say inherited a basket case.
Ratten will be stood down in my view but he should also be shown due respect especially to a club champion. The way it’s done is the difference between an understanding and compassionate club and supporters compared to self centred ones that can only have their own egos to satisfy by smirking after a lose that humiliates their club and everyone associated with it.

No he didn't, that's just playing with the truth.

Pagan... now HE inherited a basket case.

Ratten inherited a side that had pretty much finished its rebuild (he took over just in time to tank for our 3rd straight No.1 pick, and was given the best midfielder in the game as a nice present for his first full season as coach.

Ratts got a side that had spent its time down at the bottom, and was primed to rise up the ladder due to the vastly improved players that had come into the club in the preceeding 3 years.

5 years on, he got us into the lower reaches of the 8 and one finals win.

He didn't inherit a top quality side, but it's an absolute nonsense to suggest he inherited a basket case.

Judd, Waite, Betts, Gibbs, Murphy, Scotland, Simpson, Jamison, Walker, Fevola, Kruezer, Carazzo, Stevens, Armfield, Thornton, Hampson... that's some pretty decent talent he had at his disposal at Round 1, 2008.

That would require strategic planning, innovative thinking, detailed planning and someone with big cahunas to make important decisions....

People have short memories.
Ratten put the Carlton back into Carlton. Pagan was getting us no-where and in a hurry.
The club was a basket case on and offield.
PRATT was the man that got us going off field and Ratten on-field.

Yeah ... he did. 28.5 wins in the previous six seasons. Bit over four wins a season, (and we had 10 wins using disposable retreads in 2004).
That's a serious basket case if ever there was one. The Collingwood MM took over had had almost twice as many wins as that over the equivalent
period.

Whether or not Ratten could've done more with what he had ... different issue, but you can't deny how systemically bad we were.

Brett Ratten has had five years – three years with a millstone around his neck (Fevola) and two without.

Carlton was a basket case as long as Fev stayed.

And his gameplan was to kick the ball to him every time.....

Millstone eh???

I suspect it means treat the supporters like shit, take short cuts with list building and live by the misguided belief that Carlton insiders (Players, coaches, coterie members, board members, financial backers) are gods gift to the members and the wider football community.
Just like the good old days.

This is how you divert your arguement when you don't have a suitable answer to an on going topic. Take a look at the whole statement and make your argument on topic if it suites you.

The list still has scars from the Fev era. Stevens and Whitnal too. They were the last people you would want welcoming Gibbs, Murphy, Russ, Grigg, Hampson Kreuzer and Yaz to the club.

Some great times watching them over the years but the good times were usually us winning when we least expected to and the party that followed.
Not good foundations for a list going forward. The whole 2002 -2007 era when we turned up not expected to win and not really wanting to has left scars that run deep.

No it doesn't BV.
It means we don't accept mediocrity and only premierships equal success. Nothing else matters.
Unfortunately the club once it took the eye of winning at all costs and accepted losing, loser mentality and culture was delivered.
Ratten has tried to return the winning mentality and culture back. Maybe he hasn't succeeded it's not without trying though.
Elliott did what he had to do to ensure our successful winning mentality and culture stayed. Unfortunately other "wiser" presidents, before Sticks did not follow suit!!!!!
Funny how the same people who didn't care about maintaining our culture back then are now whinging that we don't have it and need it. You cannot just turn it on or off like a tap.
