Synbad, seriously, grow up and get a life. What drives an adult to spend so much time on a forum, attempting to dominate arguments against people you don't know? People like you ruin forums. Try this. Make your point, and then let others contribute

Anyone who just heard MM on 3AW would be under no illusions: he wants to coach again. Basically admitted that his manager has been fielding offers, but he won't talk to him until the season has ended for whichever clubs have made approaches.

When they say he'd cost millions ... how much are they talking, and can we afford it? Especially if we cull our entire line coaching staff?

Interesting times

Da board will count on Mick bringing in at least 5000 extra members because Sticks will tell us he is a legend and that he will win us a flag because Mick told him over lunch when he was doing his due diligence after his third Crownie.

I reckon I'm really going to be going against the stream now ... but I'd still back Ratts.

Two points, ( cos posts that are really long get a bit boring - and besides I might repeat these points elsewhere
- there's certainly no shortage of relevant threads. ).

1) Malthouse. I still say no. If Ratten resigned I'd still go for someone else. It is my belief that MM's best
years in the coaching box are probably behind him. Ask yourself this : how many coaches have there been
who have coached three different clubs to premierships?

2) Rattens public support from the club. He's been under media seige for quite a few weeks now and I reckon
Carlton has given him buggar all support. What are we ... Richmond? I reckon we've got to break the cycle
of sacking coaches. How about instead of saying that Ratten should go because of frictions between him and
some staff, how about backing the coach and getting rid of these staff instead?

I'd like to see Carlton evolve into a club known for honouring contracts rather than a hachet mob.

I'd like to see Carlton evolve into a Club that hasn't won a Premiership since 1995; and is sick and tired of promises of success; and actually does something positive about it.

In John Kennedy's famous words......DO SOMETHING.

Synbad, who do you think will be coach next season. I am not being sarcastic I actually value your opinion and knowledge of the club on this forum.

mots i just hear chatter.... but from what i hear.. it will be mm...

doesnt mean i agree with it ....

but i did feel it was time we moved beyond ratts... to me he was the least qualified of any coach in the afl...

and i think just changing him will breathe life in to this list.

ultimately its about a flag... and thats a wait n see.

im not holding my breath.

i think so much of what we have been doing is second rate.

recruiting
development
player education
strategies
skills.

and thats just on field... i reckon were far worse off field...

i dont believe our finances are as good as we all think....
i dont believe the cub is cutting edge at all
i dont believe we have a clear plan to move forward
i dont believe supporters are being embraced.

i believe the club is elitist.. and living in the past.

we have alot of work to do to move forward....

its too bad were potbound with some of the people around the club who just wont make way for others .

i wuldnt put my house on micky malthouse doing the job but id put $50 on him.

we have this unique club

it is poor at generating revenue but some wealthy supporters bail it out.

we can afford mm.... cos wealthy familes will pay for it... and they will rub shoulders with him.. a nd he will run shouders with them... and swann will look in the brw top 300 wealthiest people and count how many are carlton supporters again... and show mick...

mick will tell us about it....

and sticks will give us a y arn about how they went out and got him...

he will ask him and mick will want a challenge and will accept... but it wont be till he comes to this club thaat he will see how steeped in history it is.. and how wealthy the backers are....and how starved for success the supporters are.. and how he realises this is why he was born...

i bet we will go out and get a big name player too...
