A total waste at all levels. Player development, strategy and tactics, game day coaching. Fully agree that an independent and wide ranging review of all functions of the club is needed.

Another ignorant generalisation. At least you're proving to be consistent I suppose.
Go back and read my posts.
Where have I blamed Ratts or Kernahan?
Or where have I stated I want Malthouse?

There are threads everywhere about sacking ratten and or sticks, ie the no praise and mick malthouse threads.

But there is never an alternative thrown up. You guys just like to patronise and bully a differing opinion, but rarely offer insight or solutions. It wears stale.

Tells me a lot.

Unfortunately our players are mentally weak. That is the fact.
They cannot string more than 3 wins together and I think that tells the real story.
This is our biggest concern going into 2013.
My doubts about this playing group taking the next step still lingers and will continue on.

eggsactly, Surrey. No matter who coaches us, and who our prez is ... I'll be kinda just waiting for us to lay an egg when it counts.

We need change but not him.

As much as Id like it I don't see it happening.

Strong word now is Anthony Pratt is going to challenge.

This is the worst season I can ever remember - You can tolerate the bad years because the side was bad ,they had a bad list of players poor coaching no money and no hope and no expectations .

This year the assembled what appears to be a good coaching panel they have a list of players who at their best are better than anyone they spent more money on the football department than any other side - They put it out there they were aiming for the top 4 and gave hope to long suffering fans

To dish this tripe up week in week out is unacceptable and people with in the club should be made accountable

Season 2012 - Promised top 4 and lost to the Gold Coast.

That is it in a nutshell.

Nothing wrong with aiming for top 4. After last year, that should have been our minimum expectation all going well.

The players and the coaching staff severely over rated the list as evident in losing games to the Gold Coast and Port Adelaide this year.

Dumb and inept list management decisions, particularly with not giving the following players more opportunities
1) Thornton
2) Lucas
3) Collins
4) Watson
5) Ellard

Meanwhile, Gibbs and Garlett given carte blanche to work as hard as they choose without getting dropped

We won a final by 12 goals last year after close finals losses interstate the previous 2 years!
I'd suggest we under performed rather than over rated.

I tipped this at the start of the year, just had a bad feeling things would horribly wrong this year and they did, so I'm not to surprised its turned out this way.

Casboult, Bell, Mciness are big positives. All capable of being 100 plus players for us. I'll leave the negatives to others.

Just one last thing, the thread says "Sum up the season" So all you flowers that hijack every thread re sacking Ratten, Sticks, The bootstrapped etc, flower off to other threads and bitch about it there. I'm so sick of reading ( sorry that should be scrolling past ) all your fricking jibersish that I'm sure you've posted a million times :banghead:

Kids got games. That's huge even if by accident.

McLean being fit and playing like he was when he was drafted.

Not much else.

gibbs' pathetic "effort" against ablett on the boundary line that led to a goal says it all - and jeffey's 5 kicks, least said the better

Unfair to lump you in with that lot BV, but his point isn't that far off.

I tried discussing the players effort last night, everything gets turned around to the board and sticks.

We have multiple issues at the club, our board and Sticks are just one of them. They focus solely on them and have a crack at anyone who tries to discuss anything else.

Our aim was to finish Top 4. It was the next logical step. We've failed that miserably.

But we weren't promised or guaranteed anything.

Misrepresenting you? Oh dear.

How do you justify Ratten having no idea of which kids are ready to take the next step? Surely if he's doing his job half properly, he'd know every person on our list completely. Strengths, weaknesses and idiosynchracies.

Like I said, bro. Patronising and bullyish. It's how you roll. You wouldn't talk like that to someone in real life ... If you did, you'd have a short shelf life.

The board is replaced and the Pratt influence is gone. I want Fahour as President and a board of 6 who think in the 21st Century. I want a club that relies less on handouts from the Pratts and Mathieson.

From there things will get better
in all areas.
new recruiters
better list management
better coaching

A better more professional outlook from everyone including the players.

At the moment the culture is old fashioned built on the old Carlton arrogance with the quick fix solution
The Judd deal is classic Carlton
And it hasnt worked

Why sign Waite, Warnock and Gibbs to long term deals given their form and injuries this year

This club is going down hill

I am embarrased to support them and no Carlton supporter should be suprised by last nights result because that peformance has been coming for 12 years.

It sums everything up

I will get my wish and Ratten will go now but I want a new President and new board and a new CFC.
The old one is like a dinasour turd that is still breathing

Good one Keogh. I'll add why sign Joseph up and keep Kerr? Two spaces on the list wasted, if you ask me.

Probably time we got back to discussing the football and leaving the personal crap out of it.
