Ok, my iPhone was flat all night whilst watching the Premier League. We actually lost to the Gold Coast. Wow. Wow. Wow.

Someone explain how? Wow!

Gold Coast? Really? Roos told me all was good? So did Eade, so did Parkin!

We lost to the Gold Coast! Laughing stock!

This ain't even amateur hour, it's shit the bed little league tripe. I'm embarassed, enraged, frustrated and really really sad. Sad our Club has come to this, sad I had to witness it live and sad for everyone at home even more helpless than me - at least I got to yell at the players. I told them if you don't wanna play in September then don't bother coming back in March...and I mean it. I feel sad for Ratts in that he's not the only one who deserves to ride the lightning on this one, but he'll ultimately cop 100% of the punishment. I feel sad that there's another 7 months before we even get the first attempt at starting to redeem ourselves. I don't wanna listen to the bullshit this week, let alone the entire offseason. It feels like just yesterday the gjuys were in Qatar and I couldn't wait for the season to begin so our guys could revisit 1995 and dominate every team. We were all so wrong. I guess it's time to face facts that maybe we just aren't that good, maybe the problem is between the ears of the players and the problem is also between our ears. Massive delusions on and off the field. When they don't have the answers, what are we to do? Feels like a loved one has been lost at sea...no closure. This is the worst loss I can remember in my lifetime, and I'm not ashamed to say I shed a couple of tears walking in a daze from Level 2. I don't deserve this...we don't deserve this. I know my devestation is going to transform into rage in the coming days and I'll want blood. We all want blood. Someone has to fry for this and while it should be many, it'll probably only be one. I'm still okay with that. This is unacceptable, unforgivable and unforgettable...no sweeping this aside, no excuses, no moving on. Heads must roll. I hope Ratten gives a parting serve to each and every one of our Hollywood players who've led him to the gas chamber tonight.

"The night is darkest just before the dawn"...let's not make it a false one.

I think you're wrong with one thing. YOU do deserve this.

Good idea but you'll have to wait till March 2013 because the VFL home and away season finished yesterday and NB missed out on the finals.

The reality is, you cant have forwards who cant kick the ball.
Whether its lack of development or a lack of realisation by the coach, carrying blokes who cant kick the ball consistently will eventually come back to hurt you.

Thanks BV.

We can say what we like about the MC and coaching staff and their contribution to last night, but the players alone are responsible for their piss poor effort and workrate in the first half.

Throws real doubt over the talk about them playing for the coach.

I've been supportive of Ratten following the late season resurgence however after last night I think he must go.

Sure our kicking was woeful and the ball seemed to bounce the Suns way the whole match but our first half effort was deplorable. Letting an understrength Suns outfit run rings around us for an hour can't be excused for a mature side like Carlton. Imagine if the likes of Rischitelli, Bock, Brennan, Swallow etc were playing....

In hindsight we probably were lucky to even be in finals contention following a couple of lucky wins against Richmond and Freo earlier in the season when they kicked themselves out of the game.

As far as last night is concerned I thought Brock was very good and Bell continues to show good signs apart from a few mistakes.

I think I'll have to take a sick day tomorrow. The amount of sh!t I gave Tigers supporters a few weeks ago. And we were ten times worse. How could we let a team like that with 20 strong injury list kick the first six...

Was thinking the same thing,

I was telling tigers supporters that they are the biggest embarrassment of the AFL when they lost to GC.

But i guess I was wrong !!!

We are the biggest embarrassment of the AFL !!!!!!!!!

You should be able to kick badly & still win games like that. Admittedly that's not showing GC a lot of respect but they're a team of kids with 12 injuries FFS.

Softcocks.

I always point to the fact that we cannot scrap and fight our way to winning agaiansst the very good sides in close ones.

Can they kick??

Yeah they can kick sometimes...sometimes they can... its a confidence thing...
That was an ugly mess... nothing controlled about the way we went about trying to win a % booster....so hurried meant shit kicking
Everything was hurried... we addressed that after half time... but the pressure was on ... and it wsnt going to be our night.

Still kicking to the pockets against GCS.... and kicking it long to Eddie.
Mids didnt wanna get dirty...
Terrible structures....
Nothing intelligent about how we attempted that game... undrilled .. unstrctured... the whole thing was a dogs breakfast.
Which is why Ratten cant coach....

New day and I've moved from livid to relieved.

I don't want to lose any game but hopefully this is the loss we had to have.

I've enjoyed watching us win games again over the last few weeks but there's been an impending sense of dread that those wins against ordinary opposition would be used to paper over the cracks that this season exposed.

Last night just laid those cracks bare for all to see and there's no pretending we don't have a significant problem anymore.

That's a relief.

Roll on 2013.

Effort
Workrate

What does that have to do with the board?

As usual, you can't seperate the issues.

That's a good way to look at it GWS..

I hope this gets people in charge to awaken from their hibernation and get aggressive in every area of our club....especially recruiting and development.
