It does, they're just a little slow on the uptake. Just ask Brock.

Is anybody going to this game?

i'm going up with a mate, and was thinking of getting tickets on the night.

i'm an interstate member so should be able to get access with my card.

does anybody know if metricon is easy to walk around within the stadium?

i'm hoping to swap ends each qtr to get to the carlton end.

I'm going, but I live here. I'm an interstate member too and still had to pay for my tickets - apparently the games on my membership only apply to Melbourne games

By the way, open training session at Metricon, 5.30pm Friday

Yeah, I had some fun at the Brisbane game earlier in the year when my card wouldn't scan. Went from gate to gate to gate, was almost at the verge of losing my shit when a lovely ticket manager sorted out tickets for me and my Dad, presuming it was an error on their part. Called the Club the next day to let them know in case other interstate members experienced similar and they informed me that the games were only for Melbourne. Doesn't make sense to me...and when I came down to watch the Hawks game I had to pay also being it was fully ticketed. Pretty bloody expensive scarf and cap

Yeah, Metricon's a great little stadium. Great view from everywhere, easy to get drinks, good ground and close to home. No parking which sucks but can get a bus or taxi pretty easily and public transport to and from is covered with your ticket. I'll often go and see Suns games, just to get a footy fix and coz it's nice. Not always as cheap to get in as other grounds being Gold Coast but still worth it, even just to watch Ablett do his thing as a neutral spectator.

Always been the case for interstate members as far as I know (certainly in Perth it has) - it's an away game so the only benefit you get is access to the clubs allocation of tickets, no discount, no freebies.

I'm flying up, and very much looking forward to it!
Taking Monday off work, and making a long weekend of it.... after the last month in Melbourne, I think it makes sense!

Any tips from locals for getting to the ground, etc, much appreciated! :-)

Best way to get to Metricon is either taxi or free bus service (transport included with your ticket). But use the bus on the way home as waiting for a taxi on a sat night is a rookie move

Free buses go to/from pacific fair (broadbeach) at regular intervals pre and post match (and other locations). I would recommend booking tickets but you will be able to buy on the night if you are not organised.

Get there nice and early as there is plenty to do around the stadium, particularly if you have kids.

And it's a cracking venue, good views from every seat.

Where are you staying?

Best link to check is this. Recommend public transport or taxi.

Guys, this game is a reserved seat event so can only access standing room if not booking a seat...

The rules around this keep changing. Gabba used to also be this way, I eventually gave up and buy minimal game entitlement memberships as they are just useless unless you live in Melbourne and I just buy my own tickets now so I can be with my friends and go to the games

Customers, please note that there are no longer shuttles buses running from Pacific Fair Shopping Centre at Broadbeach, these services have been relocated to Victoria Park, Broadbeach.

Must be ultra professional and take care of business this week.

Treat it like a final (effectively it is for us), respect them as an opposition, take a full strength side, ensure we secure the four points (preferably as early as possible) and be absolutely ruthless with the margin if the opportunity presents.

Will not be happy with a win under 75 points.
Realistically it should be at least 150 seeing as how we smashed the scummers by 96.

Right now, I don't rate Essendon* to be playing any better than GC. The way those red and black #@$%'s folded on Saturday was shocking (highly enjoyable though  )

We should win and win well, but I wouldn't be expecting anything for the record books.
