As for Parkin....

He left the club in a good state with his list manageent didnt he???

And one of those premierships... 95 ... he says the players did that... (maybe he thinks coaches arent that important??).. befre that it was 1982.....

1982.. and a shit list management in the late 90s and a flag he admits he didnt coach....in 1995...

Long time ago..... form fours and chequebook signings....

Should have got Quinlan and not Galt we would have won a few more flags.... back in that time.. when you can do that.....

Give you one thing Synners

you're tenacious!

Still reckon you're on another planet though

Wait... didnt Parkin send the short fat kid Williams home for being too slow.

Then he even complained later when Lofts and Elliott went to get him..... he needed pace.

and didnt he as for Sam Smart to be a number 1 pick cos he was" tall and ready"???

Then we sent him to London via some Brissy paperwork.

Look Parkin is akin to the biker in the village people... very old school... leather and handlebar mo... very Al Pacinos ''Cruising'

You wouldnt even see that in Sydney/San Fransisco anymore....its waxing solarium and Colts gym these days in that scene

Pardon my cynicism, Hornet, but you come across as if you want Ratten (and Carlton) to fail...

And LOL at Synbad's attempts to discredit Parkin and Walls...

Surely you cannot be that naive ?
Coaches, ex coaches never pot one of their own in public.
One of the reasons why Grant Thomas is refreshing on FC because he tells as it is.

ahaha, so if Grant Thomas agrees with the rest then it's fact ROFL

This place is trippin tonight lol

Yeah but he's still got "4" next to his name in the premierships column!

My schoolyard at primary school didn't have an ounce of grass in it.

It was all ashphalt. We used to play British Bulldog at lunchtime...the nuns hated it, they were always patching us up.

I used to love those days.......perhaps we should should have a Pro Ratts v Sakc Ratts British Bulldog comp.

That would be fun......sort this shit out once and for all :fight:

Obviously with our injury count, 13 wins is looking more and more like a monumental effort.

I can't see any other AFL team being capable of matching our output this season under the same circumstances.

Depending on how results pan out we could get into the 8 having only beaten one other finalist. 13 wins this year is probably worth less than past seasons given the witches hats that occupy the bottom rungs of the ladder and an accurate reflection on how the season has panned out.

no doubt it's ruined the top of the ladder so of course it ruins everywhere else...Having said that, give us the 7 games against Melb, GWS, GC and Port that Adelaide have had and we may be sitting top 4.

Something to ponder......

So you believe Parkin deserves no credit for '82 because he credits the players for the success. yet you don't believe Parkin when he endorses Ratten.

Mmm OK

Actually i didnt rewrite Jack....

Elliott didnt believe in coaches... the only thing he believed in as far as c oaches were concerned was sack the flowers....

Him and Lofts never had any of this limp wristed situations pop up about what to do with a coach who won 1 elim in over 5 years....
Ohhhhhhh what do we do....?????
What do we do?????

We should keep him cos Bomber Thompson and Eade reckon hes ok.....

yeah and Wallsy and Parkin reckon hes going great....

How many finals has he won again?????

one???

Give him the Wallsy and Parkin treatment....!!!.... that will teach the next flower that comes along to coach what will happen to him if we dont get results...!!!...

(results meant premierships.. and not limping i nto the eight.. with incremental babystep shifts up and down but ultimately jogging on the spot.... and not bei ng capa ble of winning more than 4 games in a row....)

maybe we can get a dvd going.... the streak...... of 4.....

Thats success!!!... :  thumbsup:

And

Parkin didn't invent chequebook signings. Carlton reinvented them with Barassi.
Quinlan was bandied around by Footscray and there was very little interest as he was seen as very soft.
He changed to full forward at Fitzroy and became a star.
Galt was cheaper and a risk but little cost.
interesting topic given the debate around Cloke at the moment.

Why is it that anyone that that shares the view that Ratts may not be the man to lead us forward is labelled in such a way?

Surely I can make similar claims of the pro Ratten supporters...

Nah, happy to be proven wrong... may even borrow Braithy's super glue
