Best game I've ever seen from Gibbs in terms of impact.

I like that he started the "brawl". And Simmo and Carazzo gave it to them as well. Good to see us getting nasty.

Agreed - Gibbs' performance today was a lot more than we've come to expect. Although having no-one near him for the first twenty minutes was the catalyst for today's win I thought. Really damaging when he got his hands on it.

Which might not be a bad thing, except that Swayze is dead. So I kinda hope GIBBS doesn't look like him. Well, not like he looks now.

Too soon?

Yeah, WAY too soon. He just got the haircut the other day. Give it at least a week or two with that style before you go making jokes about it.

I was listening to 3AW & something very weird happenned in the 2nd qtr.

Monfries dives for a free....& Matty Lloyd called him on it!. Cue all kinds of twighlight zone music.

Ultimately it was just very cocky of Essendon* to bring in underdone Stanton Ryder Yeabutnaharakis...all 3 were ineffectual especially the latter who hadn't played for 10 weeks. Plus I couldn't believe they let Yarran go loose man in defence in the 2nd. :?

Did anyone see Dempsey throw his mouthguard and just miss the umpire. Commentators mentioned it.

Awesome match today, what more can you say.

I thought Gibbs really set the tone early with his hardness at the footy which hasn't been there for most of the season.
Brock McLean was really good all day.
I could go on and on about each player that played so well today but the whole team just came to play hard and at the ball.
That's all you can ask of your team when you are a member and wanted your team to perform, have a red hot crack at it.

Our odds of getting into the finals are good as Freo have North Melb next week at Etihad Stadium and they are in fantastic form.
The only worry is our match against St Kilda but I hope the Saints put a few out to pasture (the ones with niggles) now that their finals hopes are gone, and we can get the required win.
Most likely will meet West Coast over in Perth in week one of the finals.

I really loved seeing our big guys taking contested marks around the ground - Casboult especially really hasa great pair of hands. His kicking needs some work but his contesting of the footy was fantastic. He could be the next Earl Spalding.

The only negative I can come up with its Walker's set shots; he was uncanny with his accuracy last season; looks a little unsure of himself this year.

My Essendon* supporting friends are quiet, the silence is wonderful.

Haha....eerily quiet....haha wankers!....but to be fair losing the old fart early on made it very very tough for them....

After round 4, my brother, who says he is an Essendon* supporter but who couldn't name three of their team and their jumper numbers, Skyped me from Australia at 3:00 in the morning to have a go at me. I was livid. I never do it to him, despite having had plenty of chances over the long run. He is no doubt waiting for a gloating call but there isn't going to be one. That's better than anything. The wait that never ends.

"What do you think of that Vinnie?" or words to that effect, made me shake my head slightly.

Yep Basil was gold. Pretty sure Vin wasn't going to fango him back unless......

How exciting was Bell coming on an belting a few in the last too.
Gibbs, carrazzo clearance work, Waite, big mean jean Levi and that goal, fantastic stuff.
Murphy sublime game.
Brock very good again. Robbo as usual cracking in.
Proud of all of them Ratts included.
Fulham 5 -0 too, it doesn't get much better.
