Really good point....and I agree about flowering time....

Surely after all these years, you know that no-one knows what you are getting at?

 sorry, thought you ran headlong into that one.

Fair enough Mrs C but the insinuation that I asked for it is what hurts.

I agree. When Gibbs dumped Curtley Ambrose was the best.

Pure joy seeing

– Gibbs knock down the Dale Thomas lookalike Heppel

– The Bolt running down "lightning fast" Dempsey twice

– The Bolt hit packs then turn into the indiarubber man to get through a pack to take a mark

– Kreuze doing a hard block on Howlett hassling Judd off the ball

– The stands emptying in the third quarter as pi$$–weak bummer fans nicked off

TBH the N.B.'s reports have been depressing this year and the handful of magoos matches I've been to were the same. Our recruiting and development looks a lot better than it did only a month ago. John Hyde did well with the time he was allocated.

You're the worst at this!
Nah Synners is the worst. He can actually put words in your mouth and tell you off for saying them.

They'll have to retract that.
Careless omission of the word Brave. Will never stick.

Only negatives of the day...

$36 for a family ticket on the train.....WTF??

Security monkeys confiscating 130 plastic cups from mine and mates kids who'd spent an hour collecting them. Faith restored by 200 fans booing them and chanting "you are a wanker" as said monkey proudly walked away with the cups...5 mins left in the game,

Ridiculously over umpired again. I can`t remember too many Ess` goals that weren`t umpire assisted and yet they still whinged. I think they seriously design their game plan around milking frees (Davey, Jetta, Monfries)

On a side note. Has anyone here ever mentioned how much he looks like Patrick Swayze?

Which might not be a bad thing, except that Swayze is dead. So I kinda hope GIBBS doesn't look like him. Well, not like he looks now.

Too soon?

Pros:

Belting Essendon* is oh so sweet.
Terrific forward efficiency.
Nice to see us win the tactical battles for once. Well done MC.
Best game I've ever seen from Gibbs in terms of impact. Did his normal creative stuff with the ball. But won the ball as well in tight. Was fierce and aggressive against the opposition. Surely any doubts that he could be a midfield star can now be put to rest.
Best defensive game I've seen from Yarran.
Didn't get a lot of ball, but just love the physical standard that Robbo sets.
Murph, Waite, Simmo.
Casboult and McInness have had a fantastic month.
Lovely to see Garlett's form return over the last month.
Best game I've seen from Curnow since early last year.
Kreuzer was great in the scrimmages.
McLean didn't just show he could contribute, but that he could be a genuinely good player again.
Team aggression and intensity.
Great goalkicking in the first half.

Cons:

The predictable charity fest of soft ('sympathetic') free kicks to Essendon* in the 2nd half. Watson alone must have got half a dozen.
I reckon Bell should have got the entire second half to play.

Excellent game by Waite
Good performance by forward line Levi improving every week
