It's not about who's out its about who and what we put on the park. Even with those players out and what we replaced them with I would still expect to beat them.

Actually, the Richmond game is an interesting one. Often in a game of football, when a team plays well, you ask yourself how much of it was the team playing well, and how much was it the other team letting them, or being crap?

I agree Richmond should have won that game. However, 2 weeks before, Richmond lost to GC. Tells me they weren't in great form. And they weren't that night either. Ratten deserves credit for getting the best out of the team that night, having them fighting hard. But that should be minimum requirement every week, and unfortunately it isn't. So while that was a good win, it's nowhere near a 'Ratten has this team playing great football' win, as many in the media are making it out to be. That's my point. We should have thumped the Dogs even with our injuries. We scraped home. We should have thumped Brisbane. We were ordinary for most of the game. We should have been thereabouts against Richmond, which we were. Nothing to get excited about IMHO.

So what you're actually saying is the reporter was just following the party line regarding credibility?

Given the season we've had, I'd actually be disappointed if the board wasn't 'split' on Ratten.

What disappoints me is that the media keep getting hold of it.

If he got hold of it from a Board member why did he phone the club to apologise. Journo's don't apologise if they are holding a trump card. If he truly got it from a Board member he would have just said...........I stand by my story and my source.

I would go out on a limb and say he got it from a non Board member who was big noting and has now done a backflip on the Journo.

Its not just this one, the rumours on MM have been circulating for 2 years.

It doesnt have to come directly from a board member.

Maybe his source told him to retract it, but was happy to let it get out initially.

Maybe, couldbe, shouldbe. For all the talk in all the media and on all the websites it is just a waste of oxygen. It fills column inches and hours of airtime but it is nothing but speculation and innuendo. All will be revealed at the end of Carlton's season and not before.

If MM, or anyone else for that matter, is coming it won't be before Carlton's final siren for 2012 no-matter what some supporters want, so I just wish people would find something else to talk about. Not many more sleeps and the answer will be known.

Cazz,

I'll defer to your inner knowledge of the club, however, I'd just like to ask;

when the journo rang the club did he apologise for the story or did he apologise for saying the board was split?

Regards

OR

I'm told I have a nice phone voice (which is like having a 'good head for radio') but I'm not on the switch board at CFC.

Thanks Cazz,

I'm sure you've got a great head for more than radio.

However, I understand he apologised for saying the board was split!

"If" the board have indeed made such a decision at this time, than they should all stand down immediately!
I have supported them until now but with us still a possibility to make finals, this side track discussion is not what we need.
I hope the so called inner sanctum posters are wrong.

Geez the media really do just love to just lob grenades into Princes Park and watch us all chase after each other like headless chooks trying to stab each other in the back.

I really envy Hawks & Pies supporters of late.

Richmond nearly beat North the week or so before we play Richmond. North did smash us couple weeks prior to that.

Thumping Bulldogs? we maybe 1 A grader, couple B Grader players, a few C grade players and the rest was made up of D & E graders. Worst list l have seen on the paddock in a long time. Sometimes you have to give some credit when it is due!!

Surrey

I assume you're joking or taking the p1ss

Any responsible management team can and does plan for now and the future. I'd be more worried if the board hadn't contemplated what's going to happen next year

There's one thing about having an eye on the future after a perceived bad season. It's another entirely different one, to air the dirty laundry and leak it to the public.

This season is still alive. The only talk should be about Essendon* on Saturday.

What example is that? A journalist making stuff up? How is that the Clubs fault?

@#$% me, if your cat died you would blame Sticks and Ratten.
