If this is true then heads should roll. Things like this should NEVER leak to the press. Our season is still (in theory) alive and this is a disgrace.

Say what you like about Ratts (most on here do), he deserves more respect than that.

If it is not true, Carlton must immediately debunk it through Swann and state that the season is alive and all positions will be considered, as they always are, at the end of the year.

Didn't Graham Smorgan get rid of the sneaky leakers.

The board has been split for a while. Reality is that only Sticks now wants Ratten to stay.

You have a lot of smart businessman that simply don't see Ratten as a leader and the guy to take us to the top.

It was split last year and Roos was approached. He declined so Ratten was given a last minute reprieve. This year was Top 4 or gone. Nothing has changed.

The fact is that the board want MM as does Swann and the deal will be completed once season is over.

Not quite correct but I think you know that already.

As per channel 7 news. Board split on whether to keep ratts, or bring in malthouse. Swann the driver?
You would think now for certain that either swann or ratts will not be at the club next year?

Bloody Swann again..................Why is that goose allowed a say in the footy dept ? should get up the front office and sort his own shit out .

WOW, channel 7 bringing us all the old news.

Perhaps their research department should get up to speed with the latest news before going to air

With all due respect to Channel 7, I don't think it is exactly a world beating newsflash.

1) End of last season & beginning of this season it was Top 4 or fail.
Ok, given injuries etc..., maybe that drops down to Top 6 or at worst Top 8.
Given the way we failed to perform when we needed to, and the manner of our capitulation, I think most people would realise that much of the Board will have ruled a line through Ratten.

2) It's also not a surprise that he still has some allies/ex-team mates on the Board.

Voila: Board split!

The interesting part would be if we somehow scrape into the finals and then cause a couple of upsets and make a Prelim! or even if we make it to week 2 of the finals... then it becomes interesting! (Unlikely, I realise. Interesting though...)

I think the latest is......... the Ratts has been cooked......

Anyway... he did have a couple of supporters.
Sticks ... Gleeson and one or two others.. unidentified.....

Still not enough....

wish this was done a few years ago.....for me.. after than shithouse last quarter against the Lions.. when he had us play all defensive to save it.. would have been palatable...just....

Nice guy... but an AFL coach he was only in title.....

anyway..... the jungle drums will be beating louder and louder ....... till hes gone.

I reckon we'll get a good feel from the players this week as to how badly they want, or don't want, Ratts.

Bit of a boys club. A Collingwood one at that.

Not even 6 straight flags will make me think this is a good idea.

We've got more Collingwood people this year than we will probably have next year

Mate from what i understand... the main players have already told the CEO and the board where they stand in supporting the coach.

also they have improved their performances since they did that.. a weight has been lifted off their shoulders.

Just chatter....might not be true.... but probably is....

Well i do hear Richo wont be there.....

..... but still has around 250k of the last year his contract to be fixed...

Wealthy supporters will pick the balance of what he loses when he goes to another cub anyway... again just rumours....

NBH,

It's too simplistic to suggest that a player's effort is directly correlated to their support for the coach.

There is a multitude of reasons why a player performs to a certain level each week including personal pride, desire to represent the club, support of the coach, presenting to the industry for opportunities for next year or how their week has been, amongst a few.

A good or bad effort cannot be directly linked to support of the coach.

I hope the boys play out of their skin on Saturday, but just because they do can't be aligned to one reason.

Nah, I'd only be guessing, just like you.
Except I wouldnt be stating it as fact to big note myself.
