At least 4-5 times Raines smashed him into the ground, yet Selwood gets reported for pushing his brother :-)

Ps: Brad, Raines is another example of a tagger

Murphy usually cops it against Brisbane though.

The Bummers probably won't want to give us any extra ammunition by naming Lonergan.

Truly disgraceful what he & Judd cop week in week out without any support from umpires or teamates.
If that was happening to Pendlebury - McGuire(MEDIA) would be all over it.

Copping a bit of media scrutiny the bombers. We shouldn't need any extra warning but we better be ready.

I'm curious to see how Judd goes with the umpires on Saturday. I reckon he will get even less from them than normal.

Thompson said on 360 last night that the group still has a problem with playing with expectation, yet usually responds when they have their backs against the wall mentality.

Apparently their bravery despite having extra men stretches back to their VFA formation in the 1870s:

Quote:
At first Essendon* was regarded as a junior club, and even after the formation of the VFA in 1877 the side was sometimes allowed 'odds' of, for example, twenty-five players as against twenty, when confronted by the leading teams of the time. Essendon* finished their first year in the VFA playing 19 games for eight wins and a finish in fourth place.[
I never let 'em forget it either. 25 against 20, so very very brave

Whenever you get upset by what a Collingwood supporter says to you, just remember they don't have a choice, they were born that way.

Essendon* supporters choose to be the way they are.

We get a decent winning margin over Essendon* and both St.Kilda and Freo lose we'll be in the 8. That'd be almost unbelievable.

I just hope the boys are focused and no matter what happens - we belt them on the scoreboard and put them out of the eight - that includes the bullshit we'll receive from the men in white and the tough guys from bomber land.
FOCUS ON THE FOOTY & CONSTESTED FOOTY - surely must be the moto for the week!!!!!!

I suppose these days it has evened up a bit. The Brave Ones are still playing with 25 men yet they now have to play 22...
